I think that refers to special fare rentals that are not available to the general public, but only available to employees through special CDP codes. I've had such rentals in the distant past, and they very rarely credited to any frequent flyer program, and then probably by mistake.

Maybe I should just try it once and see if it works.
Our corporate rates are certainly not applicable for accruals, and as it is written those are three specific cases, which I would then understand to be heavily discounted rates through TAs are excluded. Which is what Expedia offers.

It is always worth trying, but I doubt the success. But let's see if you do try.

Nordic Choice sent out a promotional email to try to drum up business from meetings and conferences for up to 50 people. Some would say it's the advertisement version of trolling.

They're not necessarily heavily discounted. At least for rentals in Sweden, they're usually in the same ballpark as what you can get by booking directly with Hertz.

The reason why I'm thinking about booking with Expedia instead is that I'm a member of the Norwegian Trumf program, and when booking car rentals through ViaTrumf and Expedia, I can earn Trumf points which will eventually be converted to EB points at a rate of approximately SEK 1 = 1 EBP. So, I'm looking for a way to double dip.

Pretty good rule of thumb is: no points from hotels or rental cars if not booked directly with them.

I guess the main reason is the problem of double dipping in various programs.

They are maybe not that much more discounted than the online rates from Hertz themselves, but then add to that the commission Hertz has to pay to Expedia, then the deal looks somewhat worse for Hertz.

Usually the good promos from the FFPs and Hertz only work if you book with the CDP and PC only. The same goes for Avis. Sometimes with Hertz it works if you change the CDP and leave the PC in. But YMMV.

Thanks for your help, everybody! Maybe I'll take the chance if I have a longer rental coming up.

If I remember correctly, I think that I had a few rentals where I used the Finnair CDP number, but where I successfully got some miles into BMI Diamond Club. But, unfortunately, that was ages ago. RIP Diamond Club ...

Recently LH M&M had a 5000 mile promo with Hertz if you inserted their CDP and PC. I got the price to drop using the rate quote (RQ) code which I took from a cheaper quote I saw without the LH offer CDP. So you could price it with your favorite rate and copy the ratecode into the RQ field when trying to book the EB promo.

The SAS app now offers checked-in customers the option to buy the adjacent seat for the “safety and comfort” of the app-using passenger.

The safety language makes it seem like SAS considers it unsafe for the passengers to not have the adjacent seat empty.

An airline selling on-board safety as a post-ticketing purchase option for customers to give it ancillary revenue rather than safety as a bundled-in given? That’s a strange play.

SAS's performance for November 2019 to October 2020 gave SAS a loss of 9.3 billion SEK.

SAS's performance for November 2018 to October 2019 gave SAS a profit of 0.6 billion SEK.

So what we have is a nearly 10,000,000,000 SEK decline in income year-over-year. Covid-19-related damage in the main.

I can see that leading to awkward situations.... "No sorry, you can't sit there.... I bought the extra seat for my personal safety..."

I wonder if they will also at some point declare some rows "safe spaces" where they will try to avoid using definite pronoun, all political conversation, jokes, reading any books or magazines is prohibited. Of course you have to pay to be placed there

Lufthansa group airlines may get there first with declaring some rows as "safe spaces". Lufthansa wants to sell whole rows in economy class to some individual passengers. Last I heard LH wanted to trial this on LH flights serving Brazil: https://edition.cnn.com/travel/artic...eat/index.html

I see plenty of whole rows available for the take on SK long-haul flights as one of the byproducts of Covid-19.

I hope this SAS move isn't a precursor to evenutally cutting away from the free seat blocks that some have been getting on SK in economy class.

But you'll also have to pay not to be placed there

The Swedish air force doing its 2020 Christmas tree flight formations. This year you won't have me asking what is going on with the loud planes flying low.

NZ has done sales of a whole row in Y - not because of Covid-19 but for people who want a whole row to lie down without having to pay for C or F.

Anders Tegnell said it's safe on planes so there's no need to buy an extra seat for your own safety
