I couldn't agree more! Oh, and welcome to FT and, more importantly;), the SK forum!^ Thanks, I have been monitoring this forum for a while, so it was time for me to join. I have to say that the 80% will not really be true, I had only 4 roundtrip tickets in europe this summer and fall, and 6 out of this trips I have been upgradet. Most of my flights in across the atlantic and domestic USA. 2 flights to Cph and then to USA,and two to Muc with a change in Cph. I know that they only have one class beetween Osl and Cph, but when my flightplan say 17B and i get 2A, I would call that a upgrade. Even on cheapest fare. But what I tried to say is that this never happened when I was silver, and when I became gold they sudently startet to treat me way nicer. I feel there is a big differense beetween silver and gold. One one of the trips to Muc, the plane from Cph to Muc had tecnical issuess, and they needed to change aircraft. They game me a new boarding pass three times in Cph because they where changing the aircraft three times. all so i could sit in front. I think SAS is going the extra mile without needing to do it. Sorry that I said 80%, i just took it out of my head.hehe Nick |

31G is confirmed for me, though. So i guess there has to be a major f*** up for me to end up in 48E (which actually is the jump seat in the galley ^ ) |
I don't know who posted about ORD not being able to sell upgrades for points or cash because of lack of meals.
Well, it happened to me today. Two times in a short while. NOT GOOD! SK 946 was almost full in M, almost empty in Y and almost empty in C. I asked to buy an upgrade as usual, but they couldn't upgrade to C either on points or cash because there wasn't enough meals (this was almost 3 hrs before the flight  ) I was offered an upgrade to Economy Extra. She asked for my EB card, but I didn't sign for the upgrade so I guess it was free...... The ORD bunch was far from par today but I am the only passenger in row 14, so I guess it turned out good if I don't get any points taken out of my account. I was kind of excited to try the upgraded economy extra. (It has been advertised on the screens on board and in Scanorama that new, upgraded food and meal service would be implemented in October. There was nothing new today. An extra meal choice as usual, no upgraded food, one of the meals same as Economy. Same drink service as economy. The only new thing is they have cut back and don't serve lemon with the tea anymore. (disappeared in C for a while, but came back pretty quick) They are also supposed to put in a real divider in Q4, nothing yet So Lasse: You better kick some a#*!! I'm gonna ask Malin what the new, enhanced food and drink service is. |
I stand corrected!
Got the "upgraded breakfast". It's served on one of those old intra european business class trays with 2 slices of ham and cheese, yoghurt, half an egg, jam, a tiny tomato and OJ. They also served hot rolls. In the back, you get that little bag with a sandwich, coffee and OJ. (also served in "the old" Economy Extra. Something else is different: The warm towels are the same as C class. So I guess it's better than it used to be. There has been a lot of people walking around this night and since the first 3 seater of Economy Extra is free, people loop around like crazy. Can't wait to get that divider installed!! ^ ^ When the divider is in place, I have to say that Economy Extra is a much better product, totally worth 10.000 points, but never worth 2000 USD for a round trip |
