Connection time at CPH
 

Hi everyone,

I'm flying to Oslo and back later on this week, with the return flight being via CPH. I'm traveling on the SK1471 which arrives at 1855 and the SK1501 which departs at 2005.

I was wondering how connections are in CPH. Is the airport big? Will I be likely to face any problems with the 70 minute connection time? In the worst case scenario, what would happen if I missed the CPH-LHR flight (the last flight of the day)?

Also I'm hoping that I'll get upgraded on at least one of the 3 legs: are the LHR flights on SAS usually full?

70 mins is plenty for a connection in CPH. Worst case you will have a 10-15 min walk from one gate to the other . You will have to go through passport control for the LHR flight, but that should not be any big deal especially at that time of the day.

LHR-CPH/CPH-LHR flights are reasonably full most of the time, but upgrades on that sector are not likely (at least not in my experience as of late).

As said above, 70 minutes connecting time is plenty for connecting at CPH. Even for LHR-CPH, as long as my flight left LHR in a somewhat timely manner, I've done such connections without too much hassle even when my flight left LHR 30 minutes late.

CPH-LHR has SAS and BA flights and there are a few other CPH-London flights (other airports). The issue is that after 7.45 or 8.05 p.m. there are no flights left on that route.

Flights can be quite full.
I once managed to be put on the slightly later BA flight (felt like an upgrade, really ;) ) and once the flight was overbooked and they offered me to switch to Easyjet upon request (made sense since I was going to Cambridge later on the day anyway).

No problem with a 70 minute connection, minimum connecting time is 45 minutes which is enough connecting from OSL to LHR or vice versa.

The CPH-LHR flights are normally quite full, at least all the flights I've been on have had a cabin load around 80% or above.

Very unlikely with any upgrades, especially as like 50% of the passengers onboard are EBG or *G, so even if they happen to need somebody to op-up the competition will be fierce.

Piece of cake. You should have time for 30+ min in the Scandinavian lounge. The passport lines for C and D piers are next to the lounge so you can judge when you need to leave, but it should be dead at that time in the evening...

It's been ages since I flew CPH-LHR but they used the upstairs D gates on the last two ocassions and that's very close to the passport control.
