Priority Boarding

I just noted that SK is stating "Priority Boarding" as a benefit for PAX in C and for EBG:s. Is there anyone who actually have experince of such a treat from ARN or CPH?

No, and I hope people travelling with small children are still the first to board. And to make things go smoothly the next to board should be the ones sitting in the back of the plane (regardless of what they pay for the trip). C PAX can wait in the lounge for boarding and have their "benefit" of leaving the plane first. No need to get ridiculous with these benefit schemes.

Come on, EBGs have currently so little benefits left that any little benefit SK can add is most definitely welcome.

Now we only need the gate agents to enforce the boarding order too - I haven't seen that happen very often.

You're right the benefits are small (for EBS almost non-existant) but please, SAS please, then add something significant like evouchers for upgrades etc. Or maybe a hat saying "important EBG person". ;)

Be aware! I'm sure EuroBonus rules sanction very dire consequences for selling these valued goods on eBay... :D

They normally have priority boarding for C/*G at LHR, I have also experienced it at CDG.

In Scandinavia...never!

Only time I have heard agents announce priority boarding for *Gs is at CPH on long haul. Not every time but every now and then it happens.

And have you ever seen anyone enforce it???

I think US carriers handle this better as they print a group number (in large size) or color code the tickets, based on your location in the plane and status. More often than not the gatekeepers (sorry gate attendants) enforce it rather brutally, especially when travelling AA.

I think the best part with that system is that they try to get people in the back of the plane to board first, and I actually do think it makes the process faster (I'm usually up front due to complimentary upgrades so I can't really tell what is happening down there ;) ).

The worst sitaution are for those passengers travelling just behind first class as the overhead bins are usually already full when it's their time to board. It can actually be an advantage sitting in the rear in this situation.

Agree, LHR gate agents are very good at this! They usually make a clear announcement about this, and sometimes I've even experienced them checking the BP stubs to see that people board in the order they announce. It does speed up the boarding considerably when they board from the back and forward... EBG's and business class passengers are allowed to board at any time.

the last coupple of times on the 903 they have called for *G. takes about 15 seconds to turn the gate into a zoo...

nah... better to stay in the lounge :)

I agree, at LHR it works very well and they always make very clear announcements about who is allowed to board at what time, always starting with C and *G passengers.
They have checked my BP as well a few times to see I'm actually entitled to board before everybody else.

I have never seen it any other places than LHR. They do have a priority line at EWR that works perfectly.

I think priority boarding should be a *G /C-class benefit. I mean, it works on UA, why should it not work in Scandinavia?

If the flight is full, it's nice getting on board early so you have room for your carry on, especially on domestic flights (face it, most of the places you fly on SK, you can't wait in the lounge because there is none!)

SK should do boarding like UA with seating area 1, 2, 3 and 4 for quicker boarding.

Like ramo says, since most of EBG benefits are gone, this would be a cheap and good benefit for those of us who travel a lot!

I was impressed with DL during my USA-trip last week. Each BP had a zone clearly stated and people seemed to follow it. I believe it would work here as well, as long as you clearly call only the specific zones.

Lufthansa uses that system as well, fairly often they enforce it as well.
They always start with zone 1 which is C-class.
