SAS lounge at CDG

Has anybody visited the SAS lounge at Paris-CDG airport?

If so, where can I find it in T1? I think I've previously read it is quite tricky to find, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, what's in the lounge, i.e. like food, drinks and newspapers?

Cheers

CDG 1....quite worn...

Actually was there this morning, this old terminal do have a very nice architecture , but badly needs a great renovation!? I was quite late so did not have any time searching for the lounge, but having not been in CDG all too often, I must say , I almost had problems locating the gate/pier...feels almost like a labyrint with all the escalators in all directions

Were the lounge is would be very intreseting to know for my next time ?!

I was at this lounge last year or so while doing a saturday shopping run. The lounge is actually pretty hard to find and I had to ask at check in and even though I had information it was quite difficult to find it. All I remember is that it was pretty close the ANA lounge.

The lounge looks like all other Sk lounges which I feel is great. You feel at home. They do have two computers with internet access.

Yes indeed the architecture of CDG T1 is remarkable with its 7 satellites and the open atrium in the terminal building with its glassed escalators. But the layout is really confusing and every single door or walkway or check-in aisle or baggage reclaim belt or bus stop seem to be called "exit". Strange!
It is also probably the only airport in Europe where the arrivals hall is above the departure hall, at least I cannot think of any other examples.

I am most likely flying out of CDG in two weeks in C-class so I thought I should try the lounge...if I can find it.
I have been to CDG a few times but never visited (or attempted to find) the lounge.
I think most of the lounges are in the central building at the top floor but I remember having read it is hard to find, so hoped somebody could give directions. Also wanted to know what to expect.

Paris
SAS Business Lounge. Terminal 1. 11th floor. Elevators located in the center of tax-free area. Telephone: 01-48 64 79 35. Fax: 01-48 64 79 35. Mon-Sat 06.00-19.30, Sun 09.30-19.30.

And I thought that I'd find a good picture on the CDG homepage, but I would say that this image is even more confusing... :)

From the outside CDG 1 looks like some sort of cement factory !

Maybe they used it to produce all the cement/concrete needed for completing the satellite terminals before converting it to the actual central terminal :)

But seriously, this terminal is a real dump. I suppose it was pretty hip when it was built in the 60's, but now it's just seriously outdated and gritty. The T2 is millions of times better, even though there are usually huge masses of people there and you have to fly AF or partners to get there..

I also find the stupid bus connection (with busses that never seem to run on schedule) to the RER/TGV-station really awkward. T2 has a station built-in.

Yep, I have been there once. :)

The lounge is located on one of the top floors. The elevator used to reach the lounge area is found on the departure level, in the non-shengen area. When I visited the lounge I had a flight within shengen, so in order to reach the lounge I had to have an invitation to the lounge which I got from the check in desk. I then had to show this invitation and my passport at the passport checkpoint. Once you are in that area finding the elevators should be easy. Note that a passport is required even if travelling within Shengen, and that the invitation should be kept until you exit the non-Shengen area again.

My opinion is that the lounge is quite small, but during my visit that was not a problem since it was far from crowded. There are alcoholic beverages, coffee, wine, soft drinks and snacks. As Kempis mentioned there are two Internet terminals, and there is also wireless access (Telia Homerun if I remember correctly). There are no toilets in the lounge, so you have to use the public ones outside the lounge.

I hope this is the information you were looking for.

Thanks a lot for the info.
Could be good to know that I need to request an invitation from the check-in desk, they should write that on the webpage.
It sounds really stupid that SAS, an airline flying only to Norway, Sweden and Denmark (=Schengen countries) has its lounge in the non-Schengen area.

Just wanted to tell you that I just visited the lounge at CDG and it went well.
Although I must say it was really tricky to find it, not to mention how tricky it was to leave it in order to find the gate.
And I had been at CDG T1 several times before...
I asked for an invitation from the check-in counter and got one, there was a map at the back but it was incorrect because they are doing some refurbishment in the terminal at the moment, so it just made it more confusing.
A quick stop at the passport control to enter the non-Schengen area and then there were elevators just to the right of a press shop (Relay) in the tax-free area.
The lounge was at 11th floor, to the right when leaving the elevator, next to I think it was the Saudia lounge (no ANA lounge what I could see).
Rather small lounge but adequate with lots of newspapers, alcoholic and soft drinks and tasteful brownies, no sandwiches or food was available though.

Leaving the lounge was even more tricky, the "transfer passport control" between then Schengen and non-Schengen zone was closed so had to use the normal passport control for arriving passengers (with long queues), followed by a long walk around the whole atrium to find the entrance to satellite 7.
Then the usual moving escalator through the tunnel and security check, just made it for the boarding announcement.

I would not really recommend anybody to visit (or start looking for) the lounge unless you have at least an hour (or preferably more time) before your flight leaves. Took me about 10 min to get to the lounge and another 15 minutes to get from the lounge to the departure gate (security incl).
Can't really understand why an airline which flies uniquely to Schengen destinations has its lounge in the non-Schengen area.
Hope they move it in the future.
