Big Guy Looking for Help
 

Hi all! Looking to book EWR-ARN on a non-stop that flys the A330-300. I am 6'7" and 300 pounds and always try to book bulkheads for the leg room but also need an adjustable armrest (my wife will be beside me). Does anyone know if the SAS A330-300s have a bulkhead seat WITH adjustable armrests? Most videos I can find online seem to the the fixed armrest with the tray table built in. Thanks!

The bulkhead rows in Economy (SAS Go) of the SK A330 have fixed arm rests.

I would suggest paying a little bit more for SAS Plus. You’ll be guaranteed a larger seat with more legroom.

As a fellow person with similar dimensions, I can only echo the suggestion to get a SAS Plus seat at a minimum. Don't hope you win a bid for it, just buy it. You'll thank yourself later (as will your knees and back).

In fact, if I am honest, the 6'7" aspect even tells me you'd be better off bidding an upgrade for business.

I am 6'6" and my recent stint in SAS Plus was somewhere between comfortable and uncomfortable. You'll probably be tight on space once you need to use your tray table. Once the person in front you reclines their seat, it feels even more constrained. Despite all of that, it would feel 100% worse in SAS Go. The seat width always felt fine to me in SAS Plus.

I agree with ​​​dark_phoenix that SAS Plus is an absolute minimum + buying/selecting seat assignments. The tray table might be an issue since it doesn't push out that far. As a small person, I've found it to be constricting at times.

Keep in mind that SAS Plus seat cushions (between the armrests) aren't that much wider than SAS Go. Maybe an inch? If you can (barely) fit in a regular Economy seat, then that extra inch might make it bearable. Also, your bulkhead options will be limited unless you are EBG or higher (or *G/STE+, who still have to purchase seats). On the A330, you'll only be able to select 20B, 20E, and 20G in advance, as 20A, 20D, 20F, and 20H will be blocked for status holders.

In SAS Plus, all the aisle seats have adjustable armrests, so your best bet will probably be 20B or 20G, while your wife sits behind you in 21B or 21G or chooses the middle bulkhead in 20E. If the adjacent seats are available 24 hours out, she can switch to one of those.
