Full T&C: https://www.sas.se/special-offers/destination-unknown/ "You pay with a credit card (Amex, Mastercard or VISA accepted) upon arrival. The price for a room is €295/night. An additional fee of around €25 applies for breakfast and tourist tax. Please make sure to bring a valid credit card as SAS will not be able to cover this cost for you." I.e. they are asking you to pay EUR 320 per night for one person or EUR 345 per night for two people for a grand total of EUR 960/1,035. On top of your 60,000 EB points. Seems bonkers to me. It seems like you can opt out of the hotel and find your own - but of course you won't know where until you land! |

The T&Cs state that:

"Tourist tax" - that is definitely not in Scandinavia... |

Well if that plane has wifi equipped, you might be able to use your hotel points to offset the cost - but there is no way I'd pay that kind of $.

although still must be Schengen (or somewhere not requiring a passport for Schengen passport holders).
Du måste ha med ett giltigt pass. Inget visum behövs om du är bosatt i ett av de 27 Schengenländerna. So, technically, a Chinese or Afghan or Cuban resident of any Schengen country should be able to participate without the need for a visa. |
Judging by arrival time, looks like Amsterdam or London. That is unless there is are summer destinations that will be added in April.

Makes no sense imo. For 100k points you can fly J return to North America & choose your own hotel...
|
^ Yup. And with 295€+25€/night one can get a quite nice hotel room from almost anywhere in the world...
As fun as it sounds, with points inflation from 30k to 60k it really makses no sense if it is a schengen destination. SAS Plus Bonus return to Europe is 50k.... So it really can't be Schengen. Can't be US because of ESTA. ICN/BKK/HND are too far away. So either it's completely new destination not flewn from CPH now, or it's all a joke. |

Which is only the Schengen area that can guarantee that. If a Chinese passport holder is residing in Schengen, that will not grant visa free entry to the US. It goes by the passport/nationality not by country of residence. Meaning even UK is excluded, you can live in Schengen, but not necessarily have visa free entry to the UK.

But to be fair: the destination unknown includes taxes so the extra miles cover a couple of hundred kroner in taxes. |

It's not even that, now you need to get a digital approval like ESTA and ETA - which means a no to the UK. Basically it is going to be somewhere in the EU.
But on the other hand, if they throw in some nice hotel in Switzerland, then the price could theoretically make sense 😂 |

It could also be Norway to make the points value even worse.
