Exactly my thoughts - it must be a flight within Europe where EU passport holders don't need a visa to get there, so the US is a no go.
Japan/BKK can be possible and minimal accommodation is needed and it would be too short to be hit by jetlag :D (but this is too good to be true though - 30k doesn't get you far with normal redemption with SK). |

Also, there was no mention of Plus/Business as an option, so this will be a single class flight, but perhaps with Plus service for everyone. Perhaps if not enough people took the bait it'll be a CityJet CRJ or SAS Link E195.
I guess if it is a CRJ/E195 it won't be somewhere far. |
Out of curiosity, did anyone win? Where are you going?!

In February, after the end of the quarter, we launched the concept Destination Unknown, which entails SAS inviting EuroBonus members to embark on a mysterious journey. On April 5, SAS EuroBonus members will meet at Copenhagen Airport ready to board a mystery trip. The travelers are invited to explore the concept of flying to an unknown destination and join a unique adventure curated by SAS. We were pleased to be met by great interest for this concept, and more than 1,000 members signed up for the chance to embark on the mystery journey within minutes. The allure of the unknown destination will keep travelers on the edge of their seats throughout the flight until the .destination is revealed. All Destination Unknown tickets are biofuel tickets. |

Quite a fun campaign
Sign up for a lottery for 30,000 point return journey to an undefined destination. I might actually sign up. |

So do we now know where it went today?
So they wisely combined the mystery flight with an actual scheduled flight, basically just filled the seats. I guess Athens is currently SK's most interesting destination (where else do they fly that's not northern/central Europe and not a longhaul?) |

Athens it seems. SK7032 (departing the same time as the scheduled Athens flight SK777 using the same aircraft :) ), that has no previous history or future schedule.

Lena Kittesson has some pictures on Instagram.
Checkin was exclusively analogue, with paper boarding cards. Departure screens at CPH simply read "Unknown Schengen" and once on board the captain predicted a journey time of between 1.5 and 5.5hrs. https://www.instagram.com/lenakittesson/ |
ATH...and staying at Moxy.

I think it was a pretty decent campaign. They put a good level of effort in to it, and I could see myself participating, though they are probably not going to do it in Japan.

I couldn't see anywhere that hotel is included in the price. How did they manage to book anything so last minute? |

It kind of does. JAL has a running campaign where you pay a quite low number of miles and get a random domestic flight. Though it is revealed a bit earlier than SK did.

So they’re doing it again, but twice as many points this time (and more information available), although still must be Schengen (or somewhere not requiring a passport for Schengen passport holders). Any guesses? I’m thinking it sounds like fun…although have another trip planned for the next week already.
Anyone who has knowledge of the last time who can comment on 1) how hotels worked, and 2) what other activities they included? |

Anyone who has knowledge of the last time who can comment on 1) how hotels worked, and 2) what other activities they included? Someone commented that he might as well do that in NYC himself instead which I totally agree. |
