"EuroBonus is SAS’ main tool for creating loyalty among Scandinavia’s frequent travelers."
Good to know that SK thinks highly of EBGs/EBDs from non-Scandinavian countries. No wonder the FFP has bad transfer opportunities.

Well, you can say a lot of bad things about EuroBonus and SK but a company having a core customer group is not that uncommon.... almost all Loyalty Programs are build around quite specific target users. Try to do something useful with UA MileAge Plus here in Europe....

SAS needs all the help they can get. Perhaps this new role can transform the program to actually create loyalty.
Perhaps with much appreciated improvements that cost nothing like rollover points.

Agree with you main point, but mileage Plus points is surprisingly useful within Europe. You can get on a lot of pricy Lufthansa Group short haul segments for only 6.6k points, and also combine LHG with other Star airlines for unusual routings not possible otherwise (15kish points).

I don't think so. If anything we can contribute insights from our own experience. It's not that one person is making all the decisions. The main job for this position is to analysis a lot of data.

It was partly a tongue in cheek comment. I can't discount the fact that most of us are biased in regards to the program.

I don't think it would necessarily work that way. And if it did work that way, then SAS (and EuroBonus) is already beyond saving.
The advertised position would be a direct report to at least one person who should have a brain to understand what to allow and not allow even in the face of saboteurs or self-dealers as insiders.
There are bigger airlines than SAS which already have had some FTers as loyalty program insiders in comparable or higher positions than this one. Some of that was perhaps part of a "you need to hold your enemies closer than your friends" mentality, but not all of it has been.

As SAS EuroBonus is, I tend to have less use for EuroBonus points than for UA and AV miles. Most of my SAS flights using miles/points are done not using SK points. The only positive aspect I see from SK EuroBonus participation without a high opportunity cost: the shorter-term elite status angle.
