On line check in
Are SAS allowing in line check in with HBO, or do you still need to physically check in, especially at outstations such as MAN?

OLCI is of course possible. If your destination requires COVID paperwork, you may need to do the document check - this must be done at the airport in some cases, but for certain destinations you can do it online: https://www.flysas.com/en/travelreadycenter/

As others have said, really depends on the departure airport. It works well in most places, in some places where additional checks are needed and they do give you a BP they'll just call your name at the gate or you'll get a red bleep when you try to board.

I had case recently where I could not get the boardingpass in the app nor website. However http://ci.sas.mobi/ worked like charm.

SAS online check-in is just weird at times: I can take several US passport users flying the same exact itinerary, each on their own ticketed PNR, and the OLCI process will work for some to get a boarding pass on the flight but fail for one or more of the others on the same flight and similar itinerary.

In my experience failure of OLCI on TATL flights is usually (but not always) an indication that your bp will have the famous SSSS on it.
When it comes to getting hit with haraSSSSment flagging for flights during the pandemic, I've had a grand total of zero such incidents. For me, that has been a sort of noteworthy turn as usually such a volume of US-bound international flights pre-April 2020 would have had me expecting several. The number of incidents where SAS OLCI fails me in part for my SAS TATL flights is unfortunately not negligible. Amusingly, SAS is the last carrier that I saw where PreCheck boarding pass passengers got flagged for haraSSSSment screening despite no SSSS flagging on the SAS boarding passes noting PreCheck. And IIRC, that was at OSL for one of SAS's OSL-US flights. |
I find that when SK check-in on their glitchy App fails, the glitchy website usually does the trick and when you complete the check-in there the App usually updates. I have only had cases where SK insisted on doc checks before giving me a boarding card where I didn't get one issued. In return that could conflict with routes where other airlines on the same route would or would not give me a boarding card where SK would or would not. There is incredibly little consistency, most issues where on flights to LHR and ZRH.
