Partial credit

Have a r/t booking, where SAS changed the schedule (canceled the flight, rebooked me for the next day) on the return.

I can make other travel plans, so do not necessarily need the return. Are there any options to cancel just the return (due to the "involuntary change") either for a refund or a flight credit?

In MMB just follow the refund option and you can get a cash refund.

But can I get it only for the return flight while keeping the outgoing flight?

Yes. You will get the option to cnx only the return flight. However original rules will apply if you’ve accepted the change (for SAS think that means two weeks post the notification).

I did not accept the change and there is still time. However, no cancelation button on the web page. I might call them and ask.

P.S. Ok, found it - apparently the "cancel" link does present an option to cancel only the modified flight. (I am usually very careful with pressing "cancel" buttons :) ). Requested, we'll see how that goes.

Got this reply from SAS:

We are writing to you regarding an online cancellation form that was sent to us.

The unwanted segment(s) will be cancelled, and refund will be processed when journey is completed.

The refund due will depend on the restrictions on the ticket you have purchased.

Does that look right for cancellation due to involuntary change? Seems like this should be refunded now (and not based on the original rules)?

P.S. Called. They say that it was processed correctly and refund for the return flight will be made after the outbound is flown. Strange, but ok.
