Does anyone know when SAS will restart flights to Asia?

Sincerely,

Considering how restrictive China and Japan still are about foreigners entering, not any time soon would be my guess.

At the end of September, SAS plans* to start up its intercontinental flights to Asia and fly from Copenhagen to Shanghai once a week.
*Subject to government approval.

I hope JP will allow foreigners in by mid Oct; but it seems less likely with only 1˝ month left.

I have an EB award to HND that I hope to be able to use (rather than rebooking again; already rebooked once because CPH - HKG being axed)

Japan still does even allow long term foreign residents to re enter Japan unless there are special humanitarian reasons and special permission is obtained before leaving. There is no clear outlook for that to change. Tourist visa entries in October are very very unlikely to happen.

Update:
Reentry for long term residents will be opened from September 1st, but I still think visitors will be a fair bit later than October.
