As I might be going to two or three Nordic countries this summer, I was just wondering if any had some insight on the topic?

Have a great summer all!

All lounges at CPH are still closed due to the pandemic situation. And all SAS lounges in the Nordic countries are closed.

Well they say it is due to the pandemic , but sort can’t be the whole story any longer with LH lounges opening in FRA and MUC. So clearly it is possible to safely open and operate lounges. Whether SK is willing to offer this service to SK’s premium customers is a whole other story ......

It seems logical that it is in fact safer to stay in a lounge than to wander in the terminal. The exposure for contact with others seems to be lower (or the exposure is to a smaller number of people).

There are no legal obstacles to reopening lounges in any of the Nordic countries as long as they fulfill requirements re social distancing etc. Whether there are enough passengers to warrant it is another matter.

KLM and Air France has already opened a number of lounges. Strange that SAS not at least open their domestic lounge at OSL, as domestic traffic in Norway has not declined as much as other regions.

I agree with you, or at least they could do as Swiss do in ZRH and direct all eligible passenger to a contract lounge that is open while theirs are closed. In ZRH its the Aspire lounge. In all fairness though, I don't know if there are any lounges open at all, in CPH? Or it is practically possible?

Edit: OSL

At Oslo airport now. Most bars and restaurants are open with little change. Closing lounges are clearly a cost saving measure. Everything seems like before Covid.

Norrskens lounge is open at Arlanda T5. Free entrance for Finnair elites. Priority Pass can be used too.

The could at least open them as somewhere to sit and do work. I dont really understand how that would cost much more since I guess they have to pay for the space anyway and lets be honest they never ever put any good food or drink goodies out.

So, SAS, open them so we have somewhere to sit and read or work while waiting for a flight!!

It is clearly a cost saving measure (they basically suspended lounge staff). Even if you don't offer food, you still need dragons and cleaning staff. I would prefer if they did like LO did in WAW - they just opened the silver lounge. The load is not huge so it suffices - still saves some cost.
