Apparently SAS has confirmed the cabin layout - sorry link in Danish. https://insideflyer.dk/sas-her-er-de...rbus-a350-900/

Business - same 1-2-1 as today
Plus - 2-4-2
Go - 3-3-3

As expected, I would say.

Been on the A350 in premium economy with Cathay CPH-HKG and they have a 2-4-2 there. It's not as spacious as one would hope for, slightly less spacious than Plus on the A3*3 with SK, but the A350 was a very comfortable and silent aircraft, so I am looking forward to flying more with it. One of the things here is that plus now will have a 8/9 instead of a 7/8 ratio compared to economy on the A3*3. 8/9 is less than 7/8.

I disagree with insideflyer.dk that SK will soon have one of the most modern and eco friendly fleet available. Not as long as they still have their old B736, A343 and B738 without winglets in operation.

insideflyer just quotes airline press releases. If they add own comments, it will always be in the negative direction. Their tone towards SK has improved significantly since they lost norwegian as main sponsor. 6 months ago they would have written something like despite SK renewing their fleet they will still for years have an old fleet compared to other airlines.

That said. SK is renewing it's fleet and as stated in the article they have ordered a high number of new aircrafts compared to their fleet size, and everytime they receive a new A320 on of the old B737/A32x will be scrapped. The same goes for the A340's. They will be scrapped as the A350's arrive. But it will be +5 years before the current order is fully fulfilled and at that point in time, they will still have a fleet with an average age of 10 years.
Also please note that the number of aircrafts on order in the insideflyer article includes aircrafts delivered within the last 3-4 years.

Marketing language which they took from the SAS press releases. Of course debatable.

The A340 will be phased out with the A350 coming in. And the 737-600 has already had their retirement announced. Basically being replaced by A320 NEO.

For the relatively short flights that some of the 737-800 perform it is doubtful if there is any benefit from adding the winglets. For the domestic 747-400 the winglets were removed due to the short flights. I know that is a different plane, but still quite interesting.

I love flying the domestic 744 to Visby, sitting in the upper deck on the Queen...

I have never seen a 747 at Visby airport. SAS has a Boeing 747? That is “news” to me.

When did SAS get rid of its last 747? And did that plane ever make it to VBY?

SAS had a few B747 in the early eighties: https://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/...story-b747.htm

Their time was very short lived.

I suspect that they were never used on domestic flights from Bromma to Visby ...

I saw those when it had them, but never saw them at Visby. And I am at ARN, BMA and CPH enough to know what SAS has.

I'm not sure when the last 747 (probably -200?) was gone from SAS, and I doubt it ever made it to Visby
