HKG-ARN cancelled

Don't know if anyone is affected, but SK 964 from HKG-ARN for Saturday 25 March was cancelled.
Does anyone know what was the cause of this cancellation?

Was rebooked for Sunday 26 March, but now it's A340-300 (it was A330).

I also wonder if there are any compensation that can be claimed for this?

Another thing - the previous ARN-HKG flight didn't have WiFi working - anyone get any compensation for something the lack of that (we were in Bus)?

If you use EB then you can write a complaint and you will likely get 3-5000 points.

Consider yourself lucky! I've been put on Thai airways via Bangkok and the BKK-ARN flight has been rescheduled from 1:10am to 8am. Jolly 9 hours at BKK in the middle of the night ahead of me. I'm also intrigued as to why the cancellation occurred. If anyone knows please do tell.

600 euros per EC 261/2004 plus accommodation plus expenses such as dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Compensation does depend on the reason for cancellation.

At the check-in desk (city check-in at Hong Kong Airport Express Station), the CI agent mentioned equipment issue. A friend mentioned her friend had the same flight cancelled on Tuesday 21 March - although I don't see that flight on any flight tracker site (status: Unknown on FlightRadar24: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/sk964). I'm now filling in the SAS Claims Form. Hope EC 261 applies in this case (2 tix).

I was actually coming in from BKK (we bought separate ticket with TG HKG-BKK-HKG) -so would be a bit tedious going back through BKK.

And another wrinkle - arriving in CPH, our bags didn't make it with us. 2 other pax from HKG-ARN-CPH had the same issue with lost luggage. One pax was also in our situation with the cancelled flight on 25/3.

I should also have been on SK964 on the 25th. I sent my claim this morning and got a positive reply 45 minutes after I sent it to SAS. The 600 euros should be in my bank account shortly.

I got a message back from Customer Care, too - but it mentions 165 USD to be transferred to my account (Edit: this is for the section "Claim Amount", where I put in incidentals: dinner and transportation).
Why not 600 Euros x 2 pax?
I'll have to call in now: Edit: I just replied to the email.

Positive response from customer services too. Confirmed €600 compensation + refund of the overnight hotel cost in BKK. I'm impressed with SAS!
Update 30/3: money arrived in my account

165$ sounds like the hotel and meal costs, not the compensation.

Indeed it was (dinner and taxi - I just claimed what I hadn't planned on spending - we stayed at a friend's place and they paid for lunch). I just received a note from the travel consultant saying they are now depositing the 600 Euro/person.
I think the consultant rushed a bit, saw only and reimbursed the incidental costs and not the 600/pax.
They are pretty fast in responding.

I was on SK963 on 20 Mar 2017.

The flight got delayed by 24 hours due to cargo door damage. (So I left Stockholm on 21 Mar.)

The damaged A330 was replaced by an A340 for my flight so I guess the damage was quite serious...

And I just received my 600 EUR yesterday.

And I can confirm that 600 EUR/pax and 165 USD is successfully deposited. Must say they're pretty quick about it.
