The bid for my return flight IAD-CPH also got accepted @ 110 EUR (Go to Plus). Thumbs up for the new system so far!

Lucky you! That must by far be the cheapest upgrades to Plus I have ever heard of.

Anyway, I do not think it will stay this way...

Since the term 'Average bid' is mentioned several times on the webpage, I'd like to float the notion that historic biddings are taken into account when deciding minimum and maximum bids. And with system recently launched and very few bids in the history banks, bid that goes into the system early will have a greater effect than later in the game.

If so, a general advice would be to always bid the minimum as that will lower the min/max interval in the end leaving us with better chance of winning bids at lower prices in the future.

As a matter of fact, the CPH-HEL trip I refereed to above have had the minimum of one of its segment lowered 10€ since I last looked at it.

I'd love to tell them that even a 45€ minimum is way too high for me personally on a trip like CPH-HEL (I'd be happy with – say – a 30% chance of being upgraded if I paid 20 euros), but the form cannot be submitted with all legs in a journey at "no offer". The product (particularly the food and the baggage allowance) is just not there on these upgrades to be charging so much. Maybe statusless passengers feel differently...

Anyway, I just looked at my next CPH-HEL trip and the minimum has risen by ten euros to 55€ (other flights HEL-OSL etc. still have a 45€ minimum). The maximum for all the segments remains at 110€. These prices seem totally out of proportion to the successful bids for upgrading on long haul flights reported in this thread (e.g. 110€).

Oh, I agree that I won't bid even 45€ on this route.

Maybe I was mistaken thinking I had one segment lowered, because I also now have the 45/55€ minimums, with the higher on CPH-HEL. I guess I instead had one risen as you say

It is possible to cancel up to 48 hours before.

But is it after that possible to make a new offer (higher/lower)?

Any experience/qualified guess?

Lots of questions in the air still. Guess we all have to wait and see. Luckily we have this community so we learn from each other's experiences.

I just placed an upgrade bid for CPH-NRT from Go to Biz. The system suggested the average upgrade bid would be over 70.000pts per leg. Come on!

I placed the minimum bid of just over 40.000pts which is what these upgrades used to cost. Really hoping I can get them.

Question: so if my bids are not accepted, and I choose to upgrade with points at the gate, will the standard price of 40.000pts still be in effect? Or has that changed too?

Anyone kind enough to check C seat availability for my flights?

40.000 points still,to upgrade from pluss to 1īst at gate.
15.000 Go to Plus.
But you will only get the "reward" from your original pluss booking class on doing that.
If your upgraded on the "bid" 36-48 hr before departure you will earn 1īst "rewards, points, and so on".

Just to clear up some things. It's 40.000 points from Go to Business Class. SAS does not have a First Class cabin.

I just wonder if the baggage benefit still exists if you upgrade the most important segment of your flight and they just didn't want to explain that.

Also concerning the earnings to other programs. If it doesn't succeed one time they don't need to care.

Thank you so much @klmml! I guess as of right now my odds of getting the upgrade are pretty good. I might bug you again in a few days

Yup, noted. The C rewards would be great, but to be honest as long as I can travel in C I'll be a happy man.

Do cash bids gets priority over point bids or do they place a cash equivalent on the point bid for internal comparison?

Long time listener. First time caller.

Flying EWR-CPH-EWR in Go and looking to upgrade to either Biz or Plus.
Plusgrade currently shows range of 385-1090 for Biz upgrades in either direction and Plus upgrades for 110-440.

Would love it if someone could check seat availability for my flights.

Also, is there any chance of purchasing an upgrade at the counter (or gate) for cash if my bid does not get accepted? Reading this thread seems to indicate points only, but does that apply to non-Eurozone flights as well? Thanks!
