SAS Longhaul Fleet List – Upgrade Thread

Now that SAS are updating their fleet with new cabins maybe we could collect the info in one thread similar to the one in the United forum for those wondering about the progress of the upgrade.

Retrofitted New Cabin / New Deliveries:

A330
LN-RKN – EIS February 2014 on CPH – EWR

A340
-

Old Cabin:
A330 (Based in OSL, ARN & CPH and used on East Coast USA Flights)
LN-RKM
LN-RKH (Rumored to be next up for retrofit)
LN-RKO

A340 (Primarily based in CPH and used on most International Flights)
LN-RKF
LN-RKG
LN-RKP (LAN Chile Config; Mostly on CPH – ORD)
OY-KBI
OY-KBA
OY-KBM (A330 Config; Mostly on CPH – IAD; Star Alliance Livery)
OY-KBC
OY-KBD

737 BBJ (Based in SVG)
HB-JJA – All Business Config (Only used for SVG-IAH flights)

(I might have missed something but maybe this could be made into a Wiki by someone more experienced than me )

Good idea with this overview.

One comment - as the B737 BBJ is a wet lease then I do not assume that this will get the new SAS Business Cabin. Or have SAS informed otherwise?

That is a good point regarding the 737 BBJ. I haven't heard anything specific related to an upgrade for that plane. I agree with you that it is probably not very likely inline for an upgrade like the others.

ps. Would it be an idea to make this topic (assuming that the initial post is being kept updated) a sticky while SAS is refurbishing its long haul fleet? Or maybe make a wiki entry out of it?

HB-JJA belongs to Privatair and operates for SAS on a wet-lease agreement. It is not part of the interior upgrade of SAS A330/A340 fleet.

I agree that this would work the best as a wiki but I do not know how to make it into a wiki. Otherwise I will just post a new list in this thread every time we have an update to the longhaul fleet.

According to SK´s own website, LN-RKH is indeed the next plane scheduled for upgrade.

So are they doing the A330's first and then the oldest A340's?

Wonder what the reasoning for not doing LN-RKP earlier is to get it in line with the rest of the fleet.

I asked the purser this on the CPH-EWR. He didnt think it would be upgraded at all as he anticipated it being returned to Airbus when the new a330 came online. But who knows, it seemed like speculation.
