Quite an empty load between CPH and NRT
Flow both directions last week, load on both flights were really empty.
I slightly counted, there were no more than 50 pax for both directions. How does SAS make money on this route ? |
Go was filled on 12/17 (CPH-NRT), not sure about Plus and Business. Last week (NRT-CPH) Go was overbooked, Plus was around 75% and Business looked like a ghost town.
Tokyo isn't really a tourist destination this time of year and business travel is still likely starting up. Could just be a timing thing. |
3rd and 4th of January I would expect to be quite busy going to NRT, Japanese people returning from New Year's vacation. Then I would expect some very quiet days as business travel has not really picked up yet.

This flight is normally packed, probably timing/circumstances. It's one of the harder SK long-haul flights to get availability and decent rates on.

Maybe the new EuroBonus earnings are already stating to pay off? ;) Might be incidental as well...
Anyway, it's also my experience that flights to NRT or HND are always completely packed (also with LH and LX, by the way) and that affordable fares are hard to find. I booked flights to NRT with SK for March during the last by one sales (when EB earnings were still good) and then it was already puzzling to find two decent fares for the whole trip. |
Its low season from mid January to end of January.

If you drove on a highway like the M25 or the Washington DC beltway at 2 am in the morning you could also come to the conclusion that there are no traffic problems in these cities (which certainly would not be true).
