Lounge access flying FI
Will I have access to the CPH lounge as EBG? Does it matter if it's bought as SK coded flight operated by Icelandair or pure FI?
If I fly back with SK via OSL I read that I'll have access to Saga lounge which seems to be quite good. |
If you flying Saga class you will get access to CPH SK Business Lounge (not the Gold one upstairs) and if you fly Premium Eco there is some other lounge (Servisair?). Sorry never flew them in M.
SK out of KEF you get access to Saga Lounge as EBG or C-class. Saga Lounge is one of the best European lounges in my list, good drinks and snacks and even hot food at peak US connection times. FI is much better onboard product either class but no miles. I'm visiting the Rock a few times a year and I'm always taking FI. SK 737-400/700/800 are just mission impossible even in business. |
The main question is, are you flying in Business class or not.

There is only one lounge in KEF - which is Icelandair Saga Lounge and it is contracted by SK for their flights and normal SK access rules will apply.

Thank you for your prompt update.
It's a pity that SK coded flight doesn't grant SK lounge access. 20:10 - 22:20 SK6153 (FI) Copenhagen (Terminal 3) - Reykjavik, Keflavik International Even SU metal on SK code grants access in SVO :) |
Frankly I forgot when it was last time I've visited the lounge in CPH. If I have 1.5-2 connection I'm going to MASH Steak House in between peers B and A - absolutely great food. If a I have less time just having a beer or wine at one of the places in the terminal. Lounge is too long walk from A/B peers and I'm probably just too tired of lounges anyway.

Hi all
I have a related question, and tried searching to no avail. I am flying Economy from FRA to CPH with a 2 hour layover and then on to KEF. I am on a SAS ticket, and SAS metal to CPH but then FI metal to KEF. It was all booked as one ticket. I am NZ*G. Will I have access to the lounge while in transit in CPH? Likewise will I have extra baggage allowance the entire way? I’ve tried looking up the SAS website for lounge access and the table says SAS partner company e.g. FI get access if EuroBonus Gold and Diamond. Does that also mean *G? Thanks in advance! |
This is a good one. No idea. The A3's and TK's members around should be able to help though. You've been called!

Star Alliance benefits does not apply, same as with Wideroe. You need to have the status with SK to get the benefits.
Even if it is a codeshare, with Star Alliance the operating carrier counts for status recognition. |
Thanks CPH-Flyer.

In 9/2019 I had a SAS ticket MUC-CPH-KEF with the KEF leg operated as codeshare. At the CPH lounge the scanner wouldn't let me in but the warden let me in manually after I showed her the 'also SK ....' text on the boarding pass issued by LH in MUC. She commented: 'SAS codeshare FI is OK as *G!'
Since the claptrap 757 operating the evening CPH-KEF flight was 3h late as usual this was very welcome. ^ |
A quick update - I did get the extra baggage allowance, it wasn’t automatic, but the person at checkin was very helpful and looked up some reference code to over ride her system and give me the extra bag for free.
Unfortunatley our flight was delayed an hour so I didn’t have time to attempt to get into the lounge in CPH. |
