When is end of validity of a EB card ?
 

I received a EBS card by the mail, with a letter telling me that since I did not travel much I was downgraded from Gold to Silver and that I was now Silver.

But my EBG card shows as end of validity 04/2013 and on SAS website I am still Gold. Can I assume I will be Gold until April 30th, and Silver from May 1st, or could be downgraded earlier than May1st ?

I would feel absolutely confident, that the goldcard is valid as stated on it.

I can’t see where you are located, but in Scandinavia it is standard to receive the new card by mail 2-3 weeks in advance. And May 1st is just 22 days away….

I was confused because the letter accompanying the new card states "you are now a Silver member". As I have a trip end of April for which I intend to use fast track and lounge I am happy that the letter is a little premature about my situation.

Actually, you have been a Silver member since the beginning of March, when your EB membership year reset. But the cards always have a two-month 'grace period' added on at the end, in case you had a lot of points in the last few days of February that didn't get processed until after your new year started. If you re-qualify Gold at the last minute, they don't want you to lose Gold privileges while they're processing your renewal.

This being FT - your question should be rephrased "how do I renew my EBG before May 1st"!

Yes. (And if you book a future trip during April and don't touch the reservation, you have a decent chance of getting EBG on your boarding pass to enable fast track and lounge access at least on the outbound trip ;))

Actually three months. I think vinltrav has qualification year February-January. (I have March-February, and my EB cards are always marked 05/20XX.)
