Challenge; Gold status in two days?

Hi all,

Here's a challenge for you fellow FFs out there;

Is it possible to achieve EBG status in two days with a budget of 4000€ starting from scratch/EBB?

I dont have the answers, just thought it would be interesting to see what you guys could come up with..

20 roundtrips (Only need 17,5 if you're Norwegian) OSL-CPH will take 4 days and cost 3600 euros. Maybe do ARN to get shorter connections. ARN-GOT is also high frequency.

BGO-SVG would be the obvious choice if Norwegian flights counted.

BUD-CPH-NRT return - 22800 (reaching EBS)

BUD-CPH-NRT return - 31020 (reaching EBG on arriving to CPH)

4k € might be streching it and my guess is that you'd need probably 4 days

Two FRA-EZE-FRA on LH C/D/J is some 56k, ie Gold.

Just a small note...
You actually need 50 legs (25 roundtrips) for EBG outside Norway.

68 hours

CPH-SFO (SK) 1220-1445 - time for sightseeing
SFO-LAX (UA) 1845-2019
LAX-AKL (NZ) 2145-0545 (day 2)
AKL-SYD (NZ) 0700-0830
SYD-BKK (TG) 1000-1620
BKK-SIN (SQ) 1830-2155
SIN-CPH (SQ) 0005-0645 (day 3)

Should generate around 51k points in C
Tried with departure from CPH on April 28 - should be OK.
Certainly not the cheepest way - but likely one of the more comfortable ones

I am sure it can be optimised timewise

I agree with previous posters, intra-Scandinavian segment runs, or IC travel in C.

Let us know if you decide to go for it

If you are doing a segment run, than Finnish routes are often the cheapest, but also dannish domestic routes can be good. But to do 50 (45) segments in just two days is impossible. But it should keep you within your budget with a good margin.....

I think you should just do a buy-up to US Chairman's Preferred for 3999 USD.

Maybe a bit OT, but when qualifying on no. of flights. Does these have to be on SK or could you fly 35 (50) segments domestic with UA in USA and be able to qualify for EBG?

They have to be with the SAS group, which for the time being includes Wideroe.
