excellent news! I was forced to make long detours to get there... I understand that had a code sharing agreement with Cimber on the TLV route...

It is also on FB:

Shalom Tel Aviv!

Just when you thought 27 new routes this season was enough, we're adding a 28th new route! Starting June 4th, we're re-introducing the non-stop route between Copenhagen and Tel Aviv.

An answer a bit late: as others have indicated: press release from SAS. The Danish version was out before the English, I think.

This is good news for people living around Copenhagen. But for the rest of us the route will be impossible to use. The flights are arriving after the latest departure from CPH, making transfer impossible.

How many points would SAS want for CPH-TLV-PHL award ticket?

What sense does this route make? Towards TLV, maybe... back it strands everyone in CPH, I seriously doubt there is soo much leisure travel from IL to Denmark. Why send a full A321/319 with a looot of fuel nearly 2000 miles to TLV twice a week??

Cargo -- non-self-loading sorts -- perhaps?

It will be interesting to see how sustainable this route ends up being or if it ends up being largely seasonal at most.

What was the previous flight schedule for CPH-TLV and TLV-CPH when SAS had it before? Would that previous flight schedule be the Cimber flights?

Until the year 2000 SAS and Elal each had a daily flight TLV-CPH...

In a A319/321 that has to fly nearly 2000 miles? Not much space/weight available, especially if 140+ pax have around 20KG luggage.

Twice weekly ,Thu/Mon, definately says "business travel" to me. Possibly with some Israeli leisure travel over their weekends thrown in.
There is a pretty big jewish population in Malmo that i guess SAS is trying to target here, so I am not sure that the late arrival to CPH is a big issue.

2x weekly is not business, its only leisure. Business travel is anything >5x

I would agree that it is business if the flights were Sunday/Thursday but Monday/Thursday doesn't really help anyone.
