Question Free upgrades

I know it is custom for SAS to upgrade their Gold card holders when possible on European routes (at least from CPH). But, do they do the same for other Star Alliance Gold card holders? Does anyone know?

SK does not upgrade EBG or other *G holders except for operational reasons. This counts for European as well as intercontinental routes. However, if you are EB Pandion, upgrades should be more common...

They donīt do it even for EBP. As with other european carriers "free upgrades" are rare, one reason being the business cabin can easily be adjusted in size.

Sorry, but you got it wrong. Despite being EBG for years I have never been up-graded unless for operational reasons (eg. Eco being overbooked)

same story as Pandion... no routine upgrades, especially if you check in on the web. Paradoxically, it is easier to get upgraded if you are late for check-in, or you change ticket at last minute.

Sometimes it happens that the crew moves you in the Y sector if the cattle class is too packed, but without the food (not a great loss ;-)

Holding a Pandion card I more or less always get upgraded if I ask for it, 4-5 times the last 1,5 years SAS managed to upgrade me before I asked.
Flying from outside Scandinavia it is more difference, LH staff never do upgrade, while the ground staff in Brussels always do, most often even at check in (if free seats of course)
