How to book a precise seat ?

I will fly CPH-Newark-CPH in Z class. I managed to book seat outbound when I bought online the ticket, but I can't find a way to book seat inbound.
Anyone has a clue ?

Have you tried the "usual" trick, i.e. go to Lufthansa.com, clíck on Manage bookings, enter PNR and last name and change the seat there?

That always works for me, and should definitely work with a Z-class ticket.

Don´t you have to be a status member with LH to make advance seat booking ?

Hmmm ... I have a CPH-MUC-SOF and SOF-MUC-HAM-CPH booking on LH , but don´t see any options for seat reservation , when I look the trip up in "My Bookings."
Could that be because its in economy ? Or that the LH ticket is OP by a mix of airlines like Lufthansa City,Augsburg Airways, Cimber and Lufthansa ?

You don't even have to have an M&M account! I just did this on an award booking with SK (business) and it worked fine. Though, I have tried in the past with other bookings in economy and it didn't let me reserve seats.

No advance seat reservation for Economy short-haul on LH (the same as for SK)

You can reserve a seat in Economy Class on intercontinental flights. When making your booking, please open the clearly laid out online seat map and click on the seat you want. Your exact seat number is then held in the booking.

Please note at this point that to reserve a seat you must book online at least 24 hours before departure.

For flights within Germany and Europe it is not possible to reserve a seat when you book in Economy Class. However, if you would like to choose your own seat, please check in online, via your mobile or at one of the airport check-in machines.

Ah, well thanks ! But I´m able to do it with SAS on shorthaul, but only because of status of course.

I am sorry, i really dont get this. Always when I book thought agent or via SK online or phone I can whenever before departure on the in/outbound route call +46770727727 and ask to get ex. 6A reserved on both routes.

Where am I wrong?

Different means to reach the same goal! :D Calling SAS is of course a valid option as well (for IC flights at least), and for all flights if you have status.

I have found that when LH web site does not allow this then using Austrian web site to find the booking and then select the seats. This combination of LH/OS is giving me close to 100% on the ASR.

Nice one ^
Was able to pull up the seat map on OS for my itinerary, and select seats for the flights one by one. But the "Save and Exit" function was unresponsive, so I ´m not sure if my selections will stick.

Thanks for this info - it's much appreciated. We're travelling ZRH - CPH and CPH - LHR in Y in August and have just selected our seats for both flights. They show up in Check My Trip and in Find Bookings on the SAS website but are not showing as occupied on Expert Flyer yet.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! I've just reassigned seats booked on SK and SK codeshare (on TG) flights in J using this LH site trick. I could see the seats I'd originally been allocated on the SK, TG and checkmytrip sites, but with no options to make changes. Thanks Joemume!
