I really had thought these kinds of offers would have disappeared with the introduction of segment qualification. Now you can requalify with approx one r/t in IC C, and based on the other thread where people don't see any point in continuing to fly SK after making EBG, there isn't much in this for SK.

A hasty move to counter the AY offer of double points?

I give :td: to this.

SK had the same promo last year also. Simple way to make/requalify for EBG for around 26 kSEK, one IC and one shorthaul. (for Swedish citizens)
FT members are probably more critical against using SK than the average traveller, so surely this is a good way of making people stick to SK or at last *A.

Talk for yourself. Qualification periods at SAS are not restarted on Januray 1st like amny other programs. So for some of us, me included, this is a very nice offer, allowing to requalify for EBG quickly. It won't stop me from flying SAS after, on the contrary.

For me ^

I also have my qualification period from July 1st. What's the difference if you requalify after 1 month or 11 months? But yes, the value of this depends on the member. For me a similar promo that KF had 2 years ago with all booking classes giving 100% points (with the segment qualification I don't care if it's basic or not) would be of value. This promo would be valuable for me if it's points that actually could be used.

On the value of early requalification - peace of mind, perhaps :)

Also, not all promotions can be tailored to fit all customers. That would pretty much limit the scope of promos to "double extra points", assuming all members might someday want to burn points. I guess you frequent flyers will have to be content with getting more XP out of the plan-your-trips promo... ;)

This is certainly in the eyes of the beholder. Last year I requalified to EBG after 2 months thanks to the double level points promotion, so I didn´t really care. This year I´m still 22.000 points away thanks to a series of cancelled trips, so I for one welcome the peace of mind this will give me when i take my next IC trip in January.

And yes, I would love to have a special promotion titled "if your FT tag is Svantevit then we will award you EBG for life and 10 million EB points". Chances of this happening - I would say very slim.:D

I'm wondering this as well as I always book all my travels through a travel agent. Knowing SAS I suspect the promo only covers bookings made through their site.

Most of my travel is booked via my company travel agent and in previous promotions I have always received the bonus points.

Nah, when they've had promos like this before I've gotten the extra points no matter where I bought the ticket. As stated, it's only valid for flights operated by SK (and subsidiaries) though.

With this promo, you can actually renew your Gold (in Norway) for only 11600 NOK by flying OSL-CPH-BKK in B-class. This will earn you (8100+900) * 2 * 2 * 1,25 = 45000 points. Availability
OSL-CPH-BKK 19th Jan with return 26th Jan.

Anyone in for an EBG-run the last weekend of january? I'm thinking of ARN-CPR-NRT or ARN-CPH-BKK return, giving 60k resp. 63k status points when flying C... I did the BKK-trip last january and it was quite enjoyable.

SocialAdept Dec 17, 2010 1:49 pm

I'm doing GOT-STL-MSP-GOT (with numerous connections) in january so this is great for my points/status. It's all in economy though due to company policy. So I'm wondering if a Uto upgrade would be cumulative on this.

eramag Dec 18, 2010 6:47 am

This is my flight from yesterday. Shouldn't the level points be 1800. Or is this registered later?

I will go 20th i C (z) CPH-BKK (then to HKG on TG)... Anyway, someone that knows if this is only as levelpoints or can we actually use them as points for upgrades and all other services???? Last year it was possible! Thanks for letting me know. / Axelsson
