Become Gold with 40 one way flights

Starting March 6 SAS is introducing a new scheme to reach Silver or Gold status. Fly 20 one ways on SAS/Blue1/Widerø any class and become Silver.
Or 40 and recieve Gold Status.

Wow! That is some good news!

At least it would have been had I stayed with SK and not migrated to BD. This means that it is once again possible to get something back for flying every week in low economy. Forty segments per year is really not that much, I have been clocking around 50+ segments per year with SK.

If so - you can become EB Gold for 17000 SEK in just 4 days flying CPH-AAL-CPH 5 times daily

If you buy the cheapest promo fares AAL/AAR-CPH r/t for DKK 486 it will be DKK 9.700 for EBG status

Or even cheaper on Wideroe this summer in Norway:

I wonder how many new EBGs this will lead to... I could fear that the fasttrack and lounges will loose some value if they become too crowded.

I don't think domestic Norway counts

Norge (Indenrigsflyvninger i Norge er ekskluderet)
20 one-way flyvninger 35 one-way flyvninger
Alle andre lande 20 one-way flyvninger 40 one-way flyvninger

But your first example is nice!

That is excellent news. I fly KF domestic pretty often and normally 20 one ways would grant you 12000 points in economy. Now doing the same 20 will actually grant silver status (where you needed 20000 basic points)

Did anyone actually check the criteria for the 40 one way flights?

For at blive Guld-medlem skal du optjene mindst 55.000 Basispoint eller rejse 40 enkeltture på Business i løbet af en 12 måneders periode.
Basically it says: To become a Gold member you have to accrue at least 55,000 base points or travel 40 one way segments in Business over a 12 month period...

As KristianT says:
"I wonder how many new EBGs this will lead to... I could fear that the fasttrack and lounges will loose some value if they become too crowded."
Don't think this will cause any over crowded Fast Tracks and/or Lounges in the near future

How about reward flights? Could 40 x 12.000 points for intra-scandinavian do the magic as well?

Trying not to be too cheeky here, but did you read the new page?

et antal one-way flyvninger med SAS, Blue1 og Widerøe i hvilken som helst klasse, og ikke kun Business som tidligere.

But it´s being changed, that´s the news...

In the link that is "the news" it says in Danish:
"Fra den 6. marts kan du blive Guld- eller Sølv-medlem ved at foretage et antal one-way flyvninger med SAS, Blue1 og Widerøe i hvilken som helst klasse, og ikke kun Business som tidligere."

which means: "From March 6th, you can become silver or gold member by doing a number of one way trips witk SK, Blue1 or Wideroe in any class, and not only in business as previously."

The main EB site has not yet been updated.

Cheekyness allowed once in a while

I think, just like the rest of the SAS group, there are inconsistencies here. Another SAS page states it only applies to A,C,D,J & Z

Either way great that SAS is starting to look at Y PAX that do actually contribute to the revenue flow as well ^

But it also says any class, not business as earlier:
