Interesting wineries in Sonoma
Anyone have any specifically good or off the beaten path wineries to reccomend?
|
I always enjoy Rodney Strong, no idea about the tour. Domaine Carneros seems to always get high marks

Way off the beaten path, I really enjoy Frick Winery in Geyserville. It feels like you are 300 miles from nowhere when there. He has several "off the beaten path" varietals, too.

Dutton Estate is fun. My BIL likes Viansa (I think that's Sonoma). There was a new winery up by Hop Kiln (on the west side of the road) that was interesting. Bought by some guy from Texarkana.
When I'm in Somona, I just stop at places that look interesting. There's a good little restaurant (more sandwich shop) in Geyersville. Just stop and get a map or just drive. There are some really bad ones, but that's part of the fun. |
Viansa certainly isn't hidden:)
if you like reds Loxton for Zinfandel.

I recommend Artesa for its Pinot Noir and Sparkling wines.

While not off the beaten path, I enjoy taking people to have lunch at Chateau St. Jean. Although they used to make sandwiches to order, I don't think they do now. Really pretty and relaxing setting.
