For Indian, this is one of my faves: http://www.maharanirestaurant.com/
Easy access (near Van Ness), private rooms, and decent wines.
There is also Gaylord, on one of the Embarcadero buildings.
For Greek, this one comes to mind:
Mezes, A Taste of Greece, 2373 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123
(415) 409-7111 www.mezessf.com
2373 Chestnut St, San Francisco, CA 94123
Cross Streets: Divisadero
Good luck!

A British co-worker is in love with this place!
As I recall the Tandoori Chicken Wings starter was a real hit with her...

Create Descriptive Titles
Make thread titles as specific and descriptive as possible. Sometimes posters will start a thread with a very general title such as, "Guess what?" or "Strange airline policy". Be as helpful as possible in your thread titles, and if you want to improve or change your thread's title after you create it, ask a moderator in that forum for help.

India Garden, Folsom and 7th
My favorite for a relaxing, impeccably served delicious food - esp if it is nice weather and the patio garden is open. \
Re Kokkari - it is an amazing restaurant with great food, but I would call it California-Greek - standards are re invented and there are some dishes there you'd never see on a traditional Greek menu. BUT go anyway - it is the best of how SF interprets regional cuisine.

I like the Gaylords at the Embarcadero Center
Many don't and find it boring but I have always fouud it to be very good with a pleasant setting.
Prana is quite good but again not trad indian. South of market.

If you want to venture out to the Mission, I like Aslam's Rasoi - slow service but exquisite food.
