Christmas Day Saturday, December 25, 2004 Sunday Schedule http://www.bart.gov/guide/overview/hours.asp |
It's about 30 mins from the SFO BART station to Powell and Market downtown, and a few mins more/less to adjoining stations.

Take SamTrans to SFO
The San Mateo County Transit District, also known as SamTrans, could be even faster. SamTrans Line KX operates along Mission Street, which is one block south of Market Street. From 5th and Mission, one block from the BART Powell Street Station, the KX will have you to Terminal 2 at SFO in approximately 30 minutes.
Because the KX makes four Airport Terminal stops, it is faster than BART is to most SFO terminals, and there is no need to transfer from BART to the SFO People Mover for airlines not located near the SFO BART Station. The SamTrans fare is also less at a minimum savings of $1.25 over BART. For information go to www.samtrans.com, and look under schedules, then click on Express schedules. You call their Information Center at 1-800-660-4287 or on the Regional Transit phone number at 1-510-817-1717. And everyone have a HAPPY HOLIDAY. :) |
Thanks folks.

I'm looking to take BART from OAK to SFO and vv.
It appears from the schedule that the trip on BART from airport to airport will take ~50minutes. Am I correct and are there other issues/ideas I should be aware of? THANKS, ^ |

I arrive on a domestic flight about 12:45pm into OAK and depart 6:05pm from SFO to an international desitnation. I then return on an internationl flight about 1:20pm into SFO and depart OAK at 4:50pm on a domestic flight. -- |

The bus ride is 5-10 minutes. I've never waited more than 15 minutes.
After you exit the terminal at SFO, you'll have to take the train to the Bart station. I think it's 1 stop if you're on UA. After you exit, you'll see the BART ticket machines. I hate those machines. If I recall, they don't accept AMEX. Also, IIRC, you have to put your credit card in the machine differently than you normally do. I now buy a card with additional fare loaded so that I can avoid those dreadful machines. They're not friendly to the 3x a year user. Dan |
