I am in Monterey County where three fires are burning - River Fire (Salinas, 49000 acres), Carmel Fire (Carmel Valley, 7000 acres), and Dolan Fire (Big Sur, 22000 acres) - and can see the bright orange glow of flames from my backyard when smoke permits, and from the safety of town < 4 miles as the crow flies to the nearest perimeter. I wish I'd bought more than one $20 Oregon Scientific HEPA air purifier from Woot last December.

Glad to be able to walk around town again. Bad air really put a stop to that. Out walking a guest dog on the waterfront this morning - say Hi to Cody. Air quality was at 31 when we started and still in the green when we got back 90 mins later.

Thursday mid-day wasn't particularly nice. It was my first drive into SF in months. By late afternoon (back at home) the skies cleared and were blue, without any orange tint.
