Just booked two one-ways in September: SFO-BOS in JetBlue Mint, and BOS-SFO in Delta One. $548.30 each way. Fantastic.

My wife's on her b6 now - her originally scheduled flight was cancelled due to tomorrow's snow storm so she was able to get a non-suite on a mint red eye. Not $399 but...

Our glory days might be numbered. JetBlue Mint will keep being fabulous, but if Alaska (having taken over the Virgin America routes) backs away from the transcon competition, we might find ourselves paying a great deal more.

Is VX really competitive with the fully-flat hard product on UA p.s., Delta One, AA's A321T, and B6 Mint? There's no question that VX F is typically better than standard domestic first on most routes, but because VX doesn't have a subfleet for premium transcon service, I don't see how they're competitive here.

I'll never fly to EWR so United has lost me to any F to JFK. Well I fear flying out of EWR but I assume I wouldn't enjoy arriving into EWR either.
VX F may not be as nice but I loved their soft product.

All three of the three NYC airports are pretty bad. The JFK terminals are the nicest, but it's the least convenient of the three if your destination is Manhattan. I had a better-than-expected experience with EWR last year, using NJ Transit to/from Penn Station.

During a weather event about 3 weeks back my SFO-EWR nonstop was cancelled, but I was able to get a seat SFO-SEA-EWR with a midnight arrival. I got the local bus to Newark Penn Station and then the PATH train into lower Manhattan, checking into my hotel at 2a.m. Looked like the best option for a late night arrival there. Ordinarily I would take the NJ Transit train over to Penn Station in Manhattan from the station near the airport and then the subway from there.

I jumped on one of the Mint SFO-BOS $399 fares for August. I'm really looking forward to trying the product.
