Enjoying my first visit in a while. The lounge is vastly improved - no more overcrowding - virtually all Amex Plat now since Norwegian and BA are both gone from OAK and no more priority pass. Food selection is way better and everything is personally served to you due to nonsensical post Covid regs. Staff is wonderful (of course old staff was too). Drinks are stiff!
I am increasing my rating and highly recommend the new improved Escape. Only downside is the 7pm closing time.

I was here yesterday evening. Still no buffet, which is a bit perplexing, but maybe the menu service is cheaper for them. Server was very friendly and pro-active in offering food and drinks. A great respite from the terminal.
If you're flying WN, note that OAK has removed all the moving sidewalks as part of their "airport improvements" so your walk to T2 will be a little longer than it used to be.

Was in there a few days ago. Still no buffet. One could order from the menu, which was similar to the choices at PHX T3. Coffee was self-serve, although the espresso machine wasn’t working at the time.

Visited Sunday morning and the food offerings @Escape were worse than horrible. Some type of concoction on a bun, dried out maple waffles, and bad coffee. I will see if I can upload a photo. I asked if they were planning to refill Oatmeal and was told nyet. Next time I will just follow SOP and order a custom breakfast burrito from Andale.
How hard is it to cook a batch of hard boiled eggs, or put out a bunch of prepackaged yogurts? Making UCs and DL lounges look like heaven.
This will honestly be another reason to cancel Amex Plat because I won't be going out of my way to visit Escape again unless I want a free drink.
Also the local coffee place that replaced Starbucks near the T1-T2 connection is awful, $4 for a weak horrible cup which I tossed. The only plus is a Peets that replaced the Starbucks near Gate 26.

I'm glad you posted this because I have no doubt it will cause an immediate improvement, necessary before my first post-COVID visit to the lounge in a couple of weeks.

On Friday afternoon I had my first visit to the lounge since 2019. I was just getting a coffee and cookie to go, as the lounge was a little more densely populated with mask-less patrons than the rest of the terminal. I was pleasantly surprised to find the coffee machine working. The food looked substantial and decent for afternoon snacks but I didn't try any.

I was very glad to have that lounge available during my rolling WN mechanical delay for my one hour flight to BUR.
