Kind of funny to see Peet's still referred to as "Berkeley-based". I grew up there with Alfred Peet in the 60s, and, well, Berkeley-based seems like a distant memory, even if there is some "technical accuracy".

Second OAK Vino Volo outpost opened recently at the end of T1 (Alaska gates)

...as part of a mega-conglomerate of coffee (Peet's, Caribou, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, Keurig, Espresso House, Baresso, Green Mountain, Stumptown, Intelligensia), Mighty Leaf Tea, food (Krispy Kreme, Einstein and Noah's Bagels, Panera Bread -pending), Coty cosmetics, and clothes/shoes (Bally, Belstaff, Jimmy Choo)

That's pretty far from Peet's humble beginnings! (I was one of the original shareholders when they IPOed.)

Shhhhh.... Don't burst people's bubbles! A lot of those brands like to maintain an image of being small, quirky, independent, bootstraps type businesses rather than just another big conglomerate!

:p

And to think I could take a nice brisk walk to the Mothership and be there in a half hour. (Yet, I'm much much more likely to have my next Peet's at SFO than I am in the Holy Coffee Sepulchre.)
