Bart Completely Shut Down (8/8)

FYI - Bart is feeling its age:

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — BART is experiencing delays of at least 30 minutes across its entire train system and has stopped running trains because of a non-emergency computer issue, agency spokesman Linton Johnson said Monday night.

The computer glitch started at 7:32 p.m., Johnson said, and involves the computers inside BART’s operations control center.
It says "30 minute delays" but later it says they are just trying to get trains to stations to let people off. Hopefully this will be fixed before the morning commute.

They said it was a problem of a router, so probably not much to do with the age of the system, but rather a crappy "Made in China" router.

Bad router huh, maybe there is a company in the area that could help them out with that....ummm maybe a huge company that makes network equipment. :D

Perhaps the procurement contract went out to the cheapest bidder.

:D and the little wheel that the gerbil was running on to power the system was made with inferior parts and subsequently broke. ;)
