groupon
Unless I am not understanding correctly, this is what you are looking for:
http://groupon.thepoint.com/ The chicago version does not require an email signup. A (sometimes) interesting deal or coupon per day on the site. Looks like SF has not started up yet. Haven't bought anything yet but I think the idea is interesting |

Groupon in Chicago is GREAT!
Hey All,
The kinds of deals they do in Chicago are AWESOME! --2 for 1 massages --60% off spa services --50% off dog walking services --50% off meals at a hot restaurant nearby My friends and I are hooked, checking the groupon site everyday to see what's come up. OK. let me stop sounding too excited before you start calling me a lurking employee. If the SFO deals are similar, then you might wanna check it out. |
The Boston version is pretty good. I haven't had the chance to sign up for any of them yet but the deals they offer are pretty reasonable.

Looks a lot like www.halfoffdeals.com but with less selection.

-guess I won't be using that one! |
Groupon is the REAL DEAL
It is totally the real deal. I love it. it was highlighted in today's Sunday Newspaper
http://www.groupon.com/ |
We have it here in Austin and I've used it a couple of times. Good deals. One email/day, just during weekdays. I think you can probably just bookmark the site if you don't want to get the emails, but I would totally forget. And then I would miss out on 60% off a massage or 50% off some restaurant.
The way it works is there is a special - let's say an hour massage for x% off - at a massage place. You "buy" the groupon through groupon that day for the sales price. Then you get a voucher thing in email to use at the massage place. Sometimes the deals sell out before I can get one. |
There is also something as an app for phones called Yowza that was featured on CNN last week by one of the actors from Heroes that started it. Enter the store you are in and there are coupon codes that come up on the phone.

I tried signing up twice with New York and my e mail and it just keeps taking me back to Kansas City. What's the story with that.?
|
It just started here in San Antonio. The first two weeks I received emails for deals at places no one has ever hear of - nothing that would interest me at least. I cancelled but Mrs bj2757 signed up. She told me the other day that there was an offer for Spurs lower level tickets at 52% off - unfortunately she told me two days after the fact and the offer was no longer valid. :-)

they send a daily offer to you, can be a restaurant, hotel, dance class, yoga, tour, museum memberships, etc etc. take a look at the offer & the T&C's for the offer, if you like buy it, if not delete. That's it. Bought a bunch if items through the Chicago groupon.:-:^:-: Well worth the few seconds it takes to look at each offer everyday. |
