High End Designer Clothes up to 70% off

My friend just invited me to this website called Gilt, www.gilt.com and they have high end designer clothes are steep discounts. The run sales that start every weekday at Noon EST and have new designers for huge discounts. Zegna, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, John Varatos, Marc Jacobs, True Religion etc...I just bought a RL Purple Label Dress shirt for $150 (65% off). The shirt came with original packaging and tags and was brand new, a beautiful shirt. It took me about 2 weeks to find something I really wanted but its nice in case you find something you like. They have both men's and women's clothes. If you want to sign up it is by invite only so you have to use this link.

Looks like an interesting concept and I decided to sign up through your link. Verdict's still out on whether I'll buy anything or not...

Hi All,

Sorry for the bump - was actually about to start a new thread, and then searched "Gilt" and found this one. My friend sent me an email telling me to check out a sale on Mavi jeans for $48 until Tuesday on this site. I'm a little skeptical - I mean, I'm all for a bargain, but does anyone have any experience with this site and/or how it works exactly? For example, bluefly advertises discounted high-end fashionable items, but I feel like it has a more 'standard' web site, ie. not invite only. I guess what I want to know is is this site legit, legal, ethical, etc? How do we know it's not knock offs? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have used Gilt several times over the last year or so. They have some great buys, just make sure log on as soon as the sale starts. Quantities can be very limited. Recently they have added jetsetter.com to their portofolio, it's worth a look.

There are several similar sites--Gilt, Rue La La, Ideeli, Beyond the Rack. They all have different sales, but my experiences with Gilt and Rue La La have been great--items ship promptly, and are as described. For each you do receive credit if you refer someone and they make a purchase. If anyone is interested, I'm happy to provide a referral link to any of these. :)

It's a totally legit site, I buy from them from time to time. Don't be in a rush for anything, they will tell you upfront that shipping can take from 8 to ten weeks on some stuff.

And as mentioned already, some stuff will sell out within minutes of you getting the mail about it, so don't wait for the e-mail to check.

Their Jetsetter section also offers some very good hotel deals from time to time.

If you search for them you will find quite a few threads about them.

Thanks for the feedback...very much appreciated. I am considering making my first purchase. In the event I'm not happy with fit, style, etc. does anyone have experience with the return policy? The 21-day rule does not seem very attractive, but I can live with it. How about return shipping? Do they send a prepaid label? Thanks again!

Also, anyone ever hear of Hautelook? Another friend just recommended it.

Been using this site for a long time now. And Jetsetter. Both are great sites and I have no complaints about either at ALL. I posted something about Jetsetter in here a few weeks ago and for some reason it got closed. If anyone wants a Jetsetter invite feel free to PM me.

A while ago I remember seeing the interview of this site's CEO (she called it "Guilty Pleasures" as a joke) with Maria Bartoromo on CNBC. The lady CEO I believe is an Ex Executive from Ebay if I remember correctly, so at least the place is not run by HS students out of a garage....
