E-rewards gripe

I just signed up and it seems I do not qualify for 90% of the surveys. Then today I was glad to find one that i did qualify for which said estimated completion time 5 minutes. Turns out, it had hundreds of questions! I am not wasting my time with that anymore.

With a lot of the surveys, if you want to qualify, you have to answer the questions based on what kind of survey it is. If it is a technology survey, then you should answer the prequalification surveys as being an IT person.

Some people will say that putting false answers is wrong, but its pretty much the only way I get credit.

Also the more money the survey is worth, the longer it will be. Most of them are not that long.

It is, indeed, wrong. If you took your car to a mechanic and he told you that you needed a $500 repair job, but he was lying through his teeth, would you suddenly feel it was OK if he said, "But it was basically the only way I could get paid?" If you paid an investment broker for advice and he gave you false information but justified it as "but that's the only way I could get you to invest," would you feel it was OK? This is all hyperbolic, sure... but if you cheated on your taxes in order to get a tax refund, and your excuse was, "But that's the only way I could get a refund," I doubt the IRS would suddenly forgive you.

The clients are paying e-Rewards for legitimate and hopefully accurate market research. e-Rewards is paying (in a sense) its members to answer surveys truthfully, so that their client gets what they paid for. By answering falsely to get credit for a survey for which you do not qualify, you are defrauding both e-Rewards and its client.

I was able to complete two surveys today, one for 15. and one for 7, which gave me enough to claim 2000 SkyMiles. ^ Usually I end up with .50

It's completely wrong and unethical. It also violates your agreement as an E-Rewards member. Shame on you.

These aren't meaningless, Paris-or-Britney? style polls. Businesses are basing big decisions on the results of these surveys. By making up answers you are hurting E-Rewards' clients. By admitting it in a public forum like this you are hurting E-Rewards itself... by reducing the likelihood they'll get retained.

I was going to post that my "E-Rewards gripe" is very long qualifying rounds during which you can answer 20 or more questions but still be ejected before the main event. But I think my real gripe is untrustworthy respondents who participate in bad faith.

I'm another of those people who say it's wrong. If you aren't going to give honest feedback, don't do the surveys.

I have found that if this happens to me, I can email e-rewards and they will up the credit awarded. It helps to have been paying attention to the bar and know how far along, percentage wise, I was.

This thread is a dupe of many other threads on the same topic. I am closing it. If you want to continue the discussion you can seasch for previous threads (I can't look them up right now...)
