Example, this weekend at Safeway it's B2G3F on 12-packs. So a single 200 point redemption yields 2 B1G1F Qs, which when combined with the sale price nets five 12-packs for FREE.
Some chain grioceries won't allow either multiple coupons/vouchers for the same transaction, or allow use for "on sale" items--

AND Apparently your store clerk Essexjay -- doesn't realize that MCR B1G1F coupons = 2 and IF 2 B1G1F vouchers are allowed THAT is only supposd to get you 4 total NOT 5. So the clerk is short-changing the store by 1 --
as the vouchers are very specific: "BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE --

Coca-Cola will only reimburse the store according to the terms printed on the voucher(s) thus the store will only get paid for 4 12packs NOT all 5, and the fifth one they will have to "suck up" -- Again obviously the clerk is unaware and under-trained in these coupon transaction issues....

Per Purchase vs. Per Transaction

It shouldn't be a problem to do it in one trip. It depends on which store you plan to do it though. I heard the registers in some stores may stop taking coupons when certain limit is reached. The limit could be set by the stores.

Per purchase is different from per TRANSACTION. If you do enough CVSing, you'll know.

Based on my SD education, "per purchase" is treated as per item purchased. If you buy 5 of the same items, you can use 5 coupons since you are making 5 purchases. Noted, some cashiers are not "well-trained" as us smart shoppers. They may insist it's "per transaction" when rejecting more than one coupon redemption. You can nicely "educate" them when that happens . If it's printed per "transaction" on the coupon, you can only use one of the same coupons during one checkout.

My advice though, don't buy 30 bottles at the same time. Unless you will be able to consume them in a short period of time. The 20oz bottled cokes have a shorter shelf life (vs. 12 oz can). You can go to your fridge and verify it by checking the expiration date on the bottle (if you have one right now). Once it reached the exp. date, it doesn't hold as much CO2 and the favor turns horrible. I once bought a 20 oz bottle that was close to expire. When I drank it, let me tell you, it's one of the worst coke I ever had.

The 12oz can, OTOH, won't be as bad, even after the expiration date. You can ask our very own cepheid. I recall he had a post somewhere telling the differences between (fresh) shelf life and expiration date for coke.

the clerk is ...under-trained in these coupon transaction issues....
You miss the point essexjay was making. And the checker makes no mistake in the scenario.

In the Safeway example, combining both coke B1G1F coupons and store promo, the deal is much sweeter. Safeway generally has coke priced higher (compared to the other stores I shop at). Without their B2G3F promo, I wouldn't even consider buying cokes at Safeway.

When you take advantage of B2G3F, it's Safeway giving you the 3 free. Safeway corp covers the cost. Throw in the 2 B1H1F manufacturer coupons. Coke now reimburses Safeway 2 free items when customers buy 2. That's why 5 free is possible in the example.

Safeway is one of the chain grocers that allow you to combine manufacturer coupons with store coupons/sale/promo.

But you are correct that not every store will allow you to redeem this B1G1F coupon like what essexjay had suggested. You are also correct that quite a number of checkers/cashiers are not well-trained in coupon usage. Just read my other post right above.

Meh, redeem for Priority Club points, nothing wrong with a free hotel here and there.

With the limit on how many of each you can redeem, I've hit the max.

B1G1F coupons are worthless to me

if They are printed by me. Most stores in my area will not accept computer printed coupons. That includes Safeway.

THAT's just one of the reasons WHY MCR cracked down on airmiles redemption codes.

Better to trade off on FT coupon connection -- you're less likely to get your butt in trouble.

However, according to some FT posters here they've figured out a workaround to get as many pc points via MCR that they wanted....

I suggest you complain to the store manager, or go to another store --
or contact regional office of the chain.

some clerk is telling you baloney. however sometimes if you're only using
a dot-matrix printer, they have to enter the coupon code manually as sometimes it won't register so the clerks are lazy and don't want to take the
time to do it.

better to use a laser printer then it doesn';t look like a "computer" printout...

the bar code id can only be used ONCE anyway so go tell them that they're nuts and full of beans.

One of our grocery stores has a similar policy, and it's well documented, with a sign by the customer service desk, stating that they do not accept coupons printed online.
