Incidentally, this appears to be nothing more than a cap code, and not a bonus code.

jgump95 Feb 28, 2007 10:12 am

Worked for me

All except the last one worked for me. Thanks!

ziqch Feb 28, 2007 10:14 am

All except last three.

All codes worked except last three, site says maximum no. of redemptions done? thanks for easy points though:) for last three do you also use promotional code icon or something else?
thanks

Here's what I think is happening with some people getting the 18 points (3 codes) and some not:

First, the 3-point code that's all letters is a cap code that would only have worked once for one person.

The three codes offering a total of 18 points were posted on FT and elsewhere several weeks ago. They seem to still be valid for anyone who has not already entered them into their account, but I bet those getting the "maximum number of redemptions exceeded" message are those who had already entered the codes into their account after they first appeared.

One other thing that may occur to someone (it occurred to me, after all): The "tell a friend" deal on the mcr site allows you to refer someone to sign up for a new MCR account, and then when they deposit their first 50 points, you get a 10 point referral bonus. All you need for a valid new "friend" is an email account that isn't yet registered. So why not use all your available email accounts or even create new ones, and have each one enter the 50 point promotion code above, and earn an additional 10 points for each time you do this? The reason why not is that the fine print specifies that promotional codes do not qualify for the 10-point bonus. I guess somebody at MCR thought of it, too.

warrenc1 Feb 28, 2007 10:50 am

The big three still work. The site is extremely slow right now. I wonder why :) Thanks

forecheck Feb 28, 2007 11:10 am

Thanks!

BTR_CDN Feb 28, 2007 12:16 pm

I managed to get the 175 points last night, thanks for the codes.

I still haven't figured out what I should get with my 500 or so points.

I just tried the first three and got this message:

Sorry! This code is not active. This promotion is active between 11/19/2006 and 1/15/2007.

Surprising, since they were working earlier today.

You are correct, if they put in bonus points, that doesn't qualify for the 50 points they need so that you get a bonus... I was all excited during the last 50 point offers (10 points each in magazines) thinking that I could get a bunch of referral bonuses, and then I read the FINE print. :)

My family and friends are kicking themselves for waiting until after work today to enter these in, instead of last night like I told them to!!

How often do these free codes appear? I never bothered with this promo because the number of Cokes needed to be consumed to win anything seemed staggering. But I signed up today and now instantly have 193 points (thanks!). It still looks like I need to double that to get even a modest travel reward. Does the program have an end date or is it just on-going?

Thanks for the tips.

Its going to continue on for some time... I believe at least into the summer...I just saw 3 new products on the shelves that now have a "grey rewards cap" ...however the rewards are constantly changing and changing in value, so the rewards are "get em while you can"

Ugh. I picked a bad time to miss this thread for a few days straight. I missed out on this...

They come up, when they come up. There were the 6 or 7 10pt magazine codes a while back, so special codes, and double-points days, are enjoyed when they arrive.

Thanks for the tips. I guess it's another time-waster to pay attention to. :) Hard to believe this is all worth the trouble for Coke. I would think that the small number of people who might buy MORE Coke based on this promo is more than offset by the administrative costs and prizes awarded.

I think you would be suprised, otherwise they would have stopped this when it was first scheduled to end... instead of extending it twice.... not to mention its a drop in the bucket for all the promotional money coke is spending...

If you think about it, if someone likes Coke AND Pepsi, they are the same price and they are saving Coke Products, they may be MUCH more likely to buy Coke at this time.... just as many of us will use a certain credit card or hotel chain if there is a promo that we want to take advantage of.

Coke wins by having the consumer pick its product and not drink Pepsi.

swilshire Mar 2, 2007 6:37 am

I have to confess that they shifted my buying a bit. I prefer the taste of Diet Coke, but will buy Diet Pepsi when it's on sale cheap. I've stocked up on Diet Coke so often to get these points that Pepsi has lost my business for most of the last year.

No problem for me--I drink Diet Coke. My nightmare is that Pepsi begins a similar promotion. The horror!:D

Please Note This Deal Is Dead!

Every Time I See This Mentioned I Get My Hopes Up!

tarcapone Mar 2, 2007 7:34 pm

I buy about 4 12 packs for my office per week. I get reimbursed for it, so cost is only a minor concern. I've definitely shifted my purchasing significantly due to the promotion.

rbAA Mar 3, 2007 7:32 am

And besides, they are making an ungodly amount of money off flavored sugar water, so I think they can afford a little swag giveaway.

SharonLPK Mar 3, 2007 8:38 am

I don't go to the movies much, but when I did last night they had a Coke MyRewards point program promo before the main feature!! Tied it in with their Nascar promotion. I can't imagine the program ending anytime soon.

Am a new member. I also managed to get 193 points - thanks to the forum. I was of the view that you get 500 DL miles for 80 or 90 points. Does anybody have info on it? The mycokerewards website just takes me to the DL website and doesn't show any conversion chart. Even when i click Delta from the drop down menu on the right it says 'no rewards'. Can anyone please advise how to go about it.
Thanks.

There do not seem to be any rewards for Delta at present. (Use the Browse Rewards by, dropdown list on the right of the screen and choose Delta).

rrgg Mar 4, 2007 8:35 am

There have been no Delta awards for at least 4 months I think.

I'm guessing miles rewards will come back in mid-April when Coke is also changing the program. Based on the Coke survey I did, apparently there will be new airline partners but also devaluation of points.

All of the codes are now expired. I checked to see if I had already gotten credit for them and recieved this response (for all 3):

Sorry! The maximum number of allowed redemptions for this code has been reached. For details, please see official contest rules at http://mcr.us.icoke.com/holidaySweepsRules.do?lang=en
