e-Rewards NWA e-certs: transferrable?

Hey all,

I was looking at the e-Rewards items to blow some money on as I'm on the year end. Don't see anything terribly interesting, but I saw that NWA has some e-certs.

I was wondering if they're transferrable. Does anyone know?

I'd never use them as I've blacklisted NWA, but I was thinking it might be worth it to someone in the CC.

Thanks,

Super

Old topic.
E-rewards are for the member only.
However, if the member accidently entered his name incorrectly when signing up, he is free to change his name in e-rewards at anytime.

Speaking of E-Rewards, what percentage of people don't get the option to verify their information in exchange for the points not expiring. Everyone I know gets this option.

Well, I did do a search before posting. Nothing came up.

Thanks for the info.

The NWA e-cert that e-rewards offers has the following transferability rules:

• Transferability: This E-Cert offer is transferable but not for cash or any other consideration. Purchased/auctioned E-Certs are subject to confiscation and travel will not be permitted.

[I never got an "e-cert" just instantly deposited into my NW account.

When I redeemed, it was credited to my NWA account within seconds. I think the name on the accounts and the email must match up for both NWA and E-rewards. Then you must input your E-rewards password and your world perks number.

If everything matches the miles are there instantly as cndij previously indicated.

I don't think the OP is talking about the 1,000 mile e-reward. I think he is talking about the $50 e-cert which can be applied against a round-trip fare of $200 or more.

Hmmm.... I was looking through the Terms and Conditions of the E-Reward and don't see anything about transferring the e-cert, but I did see this:

To Redeem: Purchase online at www.nwa.com, call Northwest Airlines at 1-800-225-2525 or present to your travel professional. Refer to reference code PK104.
You could call NWA and ask them the terms associated with that reference code, although it's a pain to have to phone. Also, dave_261 seems to have experience with these....

Scroll down about 1/2 way and you'll see the note on transferability.

Hahahaha!!! :)

I thought maybe you just had better eyes than the rest of us, I knew I had read all the way through the Terms and Conditions! And then I went back and looked again (after your post) and realized I never clicked through from the first page on the link in this sentence:

Additional restrictions apply. See Northwest Terms for more details.
Thanks, Dave!

Thanks all.

Maybe I can actually get a little something I want out of the CC instead of blowing my e-Rewards credits on overpriced Omaha Steaks.

Thanks to dave_261! I had that question, as well, about transferability, but never asked it because those NWA e-certs were ALWAYS sold out when I was trying to redeem something. I got stuck with FTD certs (what, do I HAVE to send flowers to myself now????) or Pier 1 (which you have to spend $75 on to redeem your crappy $25 coupon... sniff, sniff).
:D :)

How long does the ECV currently take to credit? I redeemed for my GF and myself today but nothing in our accounts yet.

Superguy Sep 19, 2006 8:30 pm

I'm wondering too. Mine has been going on 2 months and I still don't have one yet.

YVR Cockroach Sep 22, 2006 11:26 am

Looks like it takes one day. However, the ECV was sent to an e-mail address on NWA.com my info profile that I don't use much (and wasn't expecting to be used as it was my secondary e-mail address). So if you are missing your ECV check which e-mail accounts you have registered with NWA.com and go and check there.
