Buyers beware...

I printed out the $10 off $40 purchase coupon and attempted to use it at my local Staples this afternoon here in West LA (Santa Monica & Westwood). Denied! The cashier and manager would not accept it because the coupon does not contain a barcode or coupon code displayed on it anywhere. I explained to them that this was from a banner ad on the internet and even offered to show them on a computer in their store for proof. They refused to let me do that as they explained their PCs only link to staples.com.

For my inconvenience, the manager gave me use two of their $3 off coupons offered for recycling printer cartridges (I was actually purchasing two cartridges, so this seemed fair).

Anyone have success stories using this coupon?

Beware of the idiot manager and employees at this location (which is the exact same location I shop in). They tried to deny me returning an empty printer cartridge for the $3 recycling program coupon due to the fact it had an "expired" date on it. Like "expired" has to do with returning one. I e-mailed corporate and set them straight (with the printout from Staples customer service) the next time I went in (with a used printer cartridges for the $3 coupon).
