e-Rewards: quit and re-join?

Has anyone ever tried canceling their e-Rewards account and then re-joining? I haven’t gotten a survey invitation since August 2005, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the problem is that in the beginning, I used to rate the usefulness of the offers fairly low. I know that e-mails from e-Rewards are not being blocked from my e-mail account, and I've also tried updating my profile as others have suggested, but no dice. So now I'm thinking that they have me down as not being interested in most things even if my profile says I am, because of my initial responses. I thought maybe re-joining and resetting all my preferences would solve that problem, and now I know better than to tell the truth about how valuable their offers are for me...just put 9 or 10 for everything.

Anyone have any experience with this? Could it work? Would they let me re-join immediately or do you have to wait a certain period of time? Any other problems I'm not thinking of?

Have you tried changing your profile?

I believe the OP answered that in the initial post:

and I've also tried updating my profile as others have suggested, but no dice.

I did!
Still no survey since a couple of month.
I registered Mrs. USAFAN some time ago and (she) got one survey.

I don't believe quit and re-join makes much difference ... just forget e-rewards.

I had a similar problem, that I did not receive any (or many) invitations, even through my balance was something like $20. Then when they took the 75% (or whatever it is), that left me with some odd amount like $7.56 - but still no more e-mails!

So what I did was sign up using one of my other addys! Now the emails come through fine, and that account has something like $115.00 in it! :D (But still nothing new on the old account. :( )

Yes, that was going to be my suggestion - register with alias using yahoo email or similar. That way, if original account ever picks up, you won't lose anything.

It does seem that e-rewards maintains a "profile" of each user that you cannot see nor edit - this can be based on data gathered from the previous surveys and e-census you may answer. Best bet may be to quit and re-join later with a different email address.

You might also check your Spam filter. It may be blocking mail from E-Rewards. Look at your account status and see if it shows a number of $.05 credits for E-mails received. If you were credited for them on your account but never received them, you may have a Spam blocker preventing you from seeing them.

Thanks, I will definitely do this. I was originally going to wait until I reached the $25 redemption amount (who knows how long that would take, though) so that I wouldn't lose anything, but your suggestion is better.

That makes sense, but I managed to get the Happy New Year Card (and I think one other e-offer since then) from e-Rewards, so I know that my spam filter is not blocking them entirely. I checked my account statement just to be sure, but it doesn't look like this was the problem either.

On my "no survey" account, I actually did receive the emails - but there was no place on them to click to acknowledge receipt! So my account did show many entries of "$.05 - received offer", but nothing more.

After I opened up the new account, using a new addy, those emails had somewhere to click! :)
