Delta coming to erewards?

From an invitation email from Blockbuster that I requested...

YOU'RE INVITED TO ENROLL IN E-REWARDS AND START EARNING
VALUABLE REWARDS

Dear XXX,

Thank you for requesting membership in e-Rewards. Membership
is by invitation only, and we at BLOCKBUSTER are pleased
to invite you to participate.

GREAT REWARDS CAN BE YOURS
You can now sign up for e-Rewards - the exciting new program
that pays you to read e-mail. As a member, you'll receive
valuable and personally relevant e-mail offers from some of
America's leading companies. Just for reading and reacting
to each e-mail you receive, you can earn e-Rewards -
redeemable for rewards from BLOCKBUSTER, Hertz,
Delta Air Lines, Hilton HHonors(R) and American Airlines(R).

I wonder if they were planning for Delta and had to settle for Northwest? Kinda weird...

Delta used to be part of the gang. I've actually joined e-rewards through an invitation I got from DL back when e-rewards was pretty new. I doubt they're getting back on. Maybe Blockbuster just forgot to change their invitation e-mail.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so forgive me if I missed it on the search.

Delta SkyMiles is returning to e-Rewards as a prinicipal sponsor, with redemption levels equal to AA and NW. They're listed on both the sponsor page and on the "redeem" page. The "Reedem" page says they'll be available in January 2006.

Delta isn't my prinicipal program, but I won't mind having Delta available to drop miles into after the other once-a-year restrictions.

I remember they were being one of the original sponsors.

My first e-reward redemption was with them actually ;)

Now that Delta and NW are on e-rewards,does anyone think there is a chance of CO following?

That's great news

i just got a clean bill of health from my psychiatrist who assures me that all memories of mypoints has been cleansed from my system; the positive steps that e-rewards has made to add some "decent" awards has certainly contributed to my recovery!!!

Does anyone know if you can deposit erewards from your account into someone elses Delta or AA miles account, or must the names match. I know that the names need not match for Hilton points but it can only be once per 90 days per Hilton account.

The terms for the AA reward clearly state in bold that "Both the e-Rewards program account and the AAdvantage account must be in exactly the same name." I'm not sure about the Delta reward, since it isn't up yet, but I imagine that it will have a similar restriction.

Thanks, but the the Hilton reward also states that the names be the same and they have allowed transfers from different names so I was wondering whether anyone has actually tried transferring from another named account on AA or even Northwest.

Hmm, I guess you're right. I hadn't noticed that the Hilton reward also had that condition. It is interesting, though, that the condition is prominently stated in large and bold text on the American conditions page, whereas for Hilton its just another part of the small print.

When redeeming an AA reward, it gives you an option to change you E-Rewards account name to match the AA account name, in case your account names don't exactly match.

All that work for only 2000 miles. Merry Christmas.

If it's a problem, then why not just change the name on your e-Rewards account by going to the Contact Information page?

I just got an invitation from Delta...

YOUR OPINION IS WORTH THOUSANDS OF MILES!
Earn Miles by Reading eMail

Hello Mr. Flier,

We're extending an exclusive invitation to you as a SkyMiles(R)
Medallion member to earn miles with e-Rewards(R).

Earn e-Rewards currency each time you receive an email from e-Rewards
and participate in surveys that are pre-screened to match your
interests. Then redeem your e-Rewards currency for miles!

It's easy, your privacy is guaranteed and there's no cost to
participate. Plus, enroll in e-Rewards today and you'll get a valuable
welcome gift just for joining!
Where's the "valuable" welcome gift??? A Rent1Get1 coupon from Blockbuster?!? When I first joined e-Rewards, their welcome gifts included such options as a free lift ticket at Snowbird ski resort. Today, I find most of the e-Rewards to be a tremendous waste of time for a very small payout.

The earning potential can be great if you lie on your responses with information such as saying that you're a CEO of a corporation with 50,000 employees. What a dumb survey process. (I'm not saying that I do this, but I know someone that does.)

Nonetheless, I did find it useful at one time. I've found the eBags discounts to be a good reward -- though not really worth the required investment of time. I found the Blockbuster reward to be good, but you're limited to redeeming only once per calendar year. The Snowbird discount can be a good deal, too, though no longer anything close to a free ticket.

I also found that the eBags discount can be reused, so it's not necessary to redeem credits each time you want to make another purchase with the discount. (By the way, the big disadvantage is no free shipping when using the coupon.)

Here are the Delta redemption values coming in Jan 2006:
$25 e-Rewards = 500 Delta SkyMiles
$50 e-Rewards = 1000 Delta SkyMiles
$100 e-Rewards = 2000 Delta SkyMiles

Redemptions for Northwest and American are the same.

Debora Dec 28, 2005 6:54 pm

I received my invite today from Delta. I went ahead to go through the motions of signing up even though I am already registered through AA. It took my input and told me I would only receive points from the sponser. So, I wonder, if I will continue to receive e-rewards on AA, as well as Delta. I used different e-mail addresses however, same home address for registration purposes. Has anyone taken the time to read the fine print on this issue?

SkiAdcock Dec 28, 2005 8:15 pm

I got this from Delta today but don't really fly them anymore & didn't know what e-rewards was, so just deleted the email. What's e-rewards?
