MyPoints Emails Without Points for Clicking
Over the past week I've received several emails from Mypoints where the button at the bottom offered points for taking advantage of an offer.... but didn't include the "5 points just for clicking."
Have others noticed this? Have you clicked and gotten the points anyway, so the missing text is just a glitch... or is this a new trend? I've clicked the offers, usually out of habit, before realizing that there wasn't a 5 point offer attached to doing so. I'm going to make a purposeful effort not to click on any of the emails that don't include offers of points for doing so. I don't want to give Mypoints the impression that their emails can drive traffic just as well (or almost as well) without offering anything in return. |
I have started to receive these types of e-mails over the past few months. I make sure to delte them right away and not click on anything in them - It is my understanding from Mypoints - I am supposed to get points for reading e-mails...

Thanks for Pointing this Out!
Well, I guess I haven't paid too much attention to the "deleted" text in Mypoints emails. :o In the past couple of moths, i just did my usual clicking and assume 5pts/per click.
From now on, I will just click on those with promised points. |
Some of them will say you get your points for clicking any of the offers in the email.
So I just click on a random one and close it out. It's not obvious and it's very easy to miss. |
Yes, I know about those and get them regularly.
I'm talking about emails that have the button to click at the bottom, along with an offer of points for taking advantage of the offer, but no offer of points for clicking the button. |
My bad for misunderstanding.
Haven't seen any of those. EDIT: Nevermind, you're right. I have gotten a few of those. I've just clicked on them and haven't paid attention. Guess I'll just delete those from now on. |
I noticed the first one today:
"Show me more. I'll get 250 Points for signing up for BMG Music Service." That was it! The expected "I'll also receive 5 Points just for reading this message and visiting BMG Music Service," which has been standard in MyPoints messages, was most definitely NOT included in this one. I will make a very concentrated effort NOT to click links that don't offer points-for-clicks in the future. |

I too have received a few of those over the past few months. Sneaky MyPoints! I just delete them. Haven't received any in the last month like that. Also, Fox is offering the 1,000 points for a purchase again in an email. Time to order another DVD.

I had contemplated abandoning MyPoints for some time now. I blame myself for not posting a similar alert in this forum when I first noticed the trend, and I should have done so... |
