Free samples of toiletries
I like to keep a bag packed at all times for travel so I never get caught without essentials. Over time, I've collected (and used) a lot of trial sized and sample sized toiletries, facial care items, and make-up items. Maybe we could share links to these trial and sample sizes that we run across. I know in the past I've seen Crest, Colgate, Mary Kay, Avon, Pantene, and too many to mention. I'm sorry that I don't have any to offer today, but, I'll certainly keep my eyes open for any in the future. Having those one-use packets sure beats having leaky bottles in the suitcase.

It's very kind of you to put up all these offers. And while I realize this mostly does relate to women, we do have a forum specifically for free stuff though so I am going to move this thread to SPAM. Please follow it there and continue to post your great finds.

My wife keeps a basket of miniatures like these in our guest bathroom for when we have guests overnight. The one time use samples are a lot better than having your guests use 20 year old soap!

NOT exactly free, but on the "travel size" stuff topic for sure: check out minimus.biz. Tons of small sizes. They have basic & deluxe "care packages" for men & women, for snacks, laundry, meals, gift certificates, etc. I haven't tried them yet myself, but have heard a couple of good recommend's about 'em and would be interested in hearing if any other FTers have had success w/ them. Seems like a convenient way to keep stocked up on "the small things."

A little off-topic, so my apologies in advance -
When I was in college, I had to do a marketing project on shampoos & conditioners. We ended up writing the makers of Herbal Essences & they sent us a case of trial size shampoo & conditioners for our project for free. We gave out trial sizes to the entire class & had enough left over to not need to buy shampoo/conditioner for me & my roommates for quite some time. |
