Mypoints mistake
 
I received an email from mypoints this week. It said their systems had made an error in posting points, and that I would be seeing a correction to my points balance and it would be dated Feb 14.

I checked my account and in fact, I had 1050 more points than the day before. I looked at the detail of my account and those 1050 points were pending. But they didn't show up in Feb 2005.

So back I looked... and back.... and back some more. The points were posted to MARCH 2004 and pending until 3/14/05.

So, not only did they make a mistake, their correction to the mistake is also wrong.

Those missing points should have been made available immediately - not 30 days from now.

Check your accounts if you got that email ;)

I got that email, too, but my available points hadn't changed so I didn't pay any attention to it. After reading your message, I noticed that my pending points went up and found additions in March 04, pending until March 05.

I think I have had it with mypoints. My account had just over 10k points so I redeemed the 10k in Hilton points.
IT SHOWS PENDING 4/20/05 - TWO MONTHS FROM NOW

Sent them an e-mail, no response not even the usual automatic receipt one.

If I ever get those, thats it, pretty useless considering the other airlines shopping site around.

Hilton point transfers usually take 2-3 days.
Check your hhonors account - they're probably already there!

That had been the case in the past - but apparently not anymore,
( I have redeemed HH points many times) and they used to show up in about 1 day.

Its now 5 days and my account shows redemption to occur on 4/20.

IMHO Progam now a notch above usless.

I think this is a change in policy from a year or two ago. If it says 4/20 - well, that's how long they're going to hold them. I'm not 100% sure about that.

You can send them an email asking them if it is an error - it just may be. I requested Hyatt checks and they were out of stock, so the pending date reflected the date they expected to get them. I received them early.

I still use them to get Hyatt checks, which I find to be a pretty good value. I guess I should start doing my homework to see if I can do better using a different shopping portal.

Even more troubling is that I sent them two e-mails and have not had any response, not even the auto generated ones.

I received another email this morning from MyPoints. They are acknowledging that they made a mistake in the dates and the points should say March 04.

What's really irritating is that it also says the points are pending for the "requisite 30 days."

Huh? 30 days were up in April 04!

I also suspect they've been flooded with emails about this and it may be one of the reasons they're not replying to emails. They have given a different email address in this email to contact them with questions.

I'm sure I got those points way back when they said they made a mistake since I try to stay on top of points for purchases. But I have no time to go back and see if these are duplicate posts. Am I the only one who might be getting a bonus here?
