Mileage Certs back at Greenpoints.com

Just went to get a Home Depot cert on greenpoints.com and notice the return of American, Alaska Airlines, and Delta 500 miles certs were available again.

Cost 8900 greenpoints and shipping is free.
Not the same deal as before but I did change my mind and got the AA cert instead of the Home Depot.

Yeah- not the same deal as in 2000/01! Just a slight increase of 350% http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

But, we all know sites like this need to charge a little more for FF miles if they plan to stay in business.

the movie tkts are a good deal for me. it comes out to about a 1 1/2% rebate, and since I use their VISA card overseas only 1% fee added by VISA INTL it works out to not really paying the conversion fee, then again most cards its an extra 2 or 3 % to the issuing bank besides that 1& from the CC company.

Most shopping gives 20 greenpoints per dollar spent. So you would have to spend $445 to get the 8900 points needed to get 500 miles. That's over 1.12 miles per dollar. Better than some, worse than others. Worth considering.

I have some of the original Delta certificates and they are about to expire. If you have any left, you should check the expiration dates.

I already claimed one 500 mile cert from them a few weeks ago. I get most of my Greenpoints through regular grocery shopping anyway, so not much extra $ or effort needed on my part (except to remember to order Land's End and other stuff through their link for more points <g> ). Hopefully they will keep these on offer for awhile so I can claim one or two more.

How exactly do these certificates work? Does greenpoints mail them to you and then you send them to the airline to be credited to your account? Or do you have to present them when actually "buying" a ticket with points? Thanks for the info.

Greenpoints mails you a certificate, which you then fill out and mail to the airline. It is a blank certificate, so you can spread them amongst different family accounts or transfer them to others.

Just received 12 AAdvantage Certs a week and a half ago...Placed the order for them on Mon. night, they were in my mailbox on Thurs.

Didn't have to send them in, there's a website that you go to, & enter the number of each cert, your name, AAdvantage #, etc.

Points posted within 3 days.

Worked out well since greenpoints had "expired" all off my points the previous Saturday (3 years of inactivity). A phone call on monday got them restored, most of them spent & credited to my account within a week.
