100 MyPoints
 

I happened upon this purely by accident.

My bank recently sent me a new check card. I noticed that the MyPoints dining pogram (which is administered by iDine) is now free. It used to have a cost attached.

Since I had my other cards linked to other iDine programs, I went ahead and registered the new checkcard with MyPoints. When I checked my MyPoints balance today, I saw that I got 100 Points for registering (even though this is not advertised on the link and I didn't get a confirmation pop-up).

I hope some of you can use this.

How does work? I could not find anything on MyPoints website.

Thanks for the info ... but keep in mind that you can also choose an airline and earn 10 miles / $1 directly with an airline. I believe that's better than Mypoints points & redemption ratio.

BUT you can register a card that you wouldn't actually use for Idine. I'm going to try registering my bank's checkcard too. I would never use it at a restaurant. I always use my mile earning credit cards.

DebBrown is right about something that I think I didn't explain well. I registered a card that I would not use in a restaurant. I have my AMEX (which is what I use) registered to Delta. That way I get MR points and Delta miles. By registering a card that would have remained idle, I get 100 free points.

Thanks, now I found it. But mypoints.idine.com is not coming up. Not with Netscape 7 and not with Internet Explorer 6.0.

They accept only cards which where not registered before for idine!

I registered a VISA card 2 days ago, but didn't get the 100 points.

Is there any condition on getting the bonus ?

Did this prove to be a one time event or did anyone else get 100 points?
