My first purchase for Tupperware was before Christmas, for 800 pts. My second was Jan 7th for 800 pts, and my third order was Feb 2nd (I was thinking it was calendar month, silly me) and I received the "only available once every 365 days", then today a 5 pts pending came up for Tupperware for one month from now. Now isn't that ridiculous? One month for 5 lousy points??? Anyone think this is worth the time to try to get the 800 pts?

I was about to jump on this one, but - wait a minute - it costs too much.
Let's see: we spend around $5 to "buy" 800 points (unless you are fond of swizzle sticks), then transfer 1000 Mypoints into 1000 HHonors.
That bring a cost to about $6 per 1000 HH, or 0.06c per 1 HH.
But HH points are valued in the range of 0.05 - 0.08 , so we just buy it at face value!
Another example: the best Gift Cert value is $50 Macy's at 5450 points. By using Tupperware, we'd spend 7 * $5 = $35 for $50 gift cert, but the labor ?

I'll pass, unless we'd get a free shipping - that was an original December offer

I just got the 800 points at tupperware for just $1.. I selected a $5 gift certificate, but when I got to the confirmation page, it let me change the value to anything I wanted.. so I changed it to $1 and it gave me the link to confirm my 800 points. From what I've read on another board, that's worked for a number of people so far.. so good luck. I'll take points anyway I can get them right now.

But, on the banner ad(vertical) in the mypoints welcome page towards the bottom, it says: " Offer excludes e-gift certificates, offer expires 3.03.03". May be the offer they are talking about may only be the '10% off everything" mentioned in the same bannner ad.Did you 800 miles actually post to your account?

artsygal, Brilliant! I linked on the banner that said promo expires 3/3/03 and bought the egift certificate & at checkout changed it to $1. Make sure you click on the link at the bottom of the final page to receive the 800 MyPoints. The ingenuity of FTers never ceases to amaze me. And by the way, welcome to FlyerTalk.

I read the gift certificate language as excluding the discount, not excluding the points...
Make any purchase from Tupperware and receive 800 Points! (Once) The 10% off sale does not include eGift Certificates. Offer ends March 3, 2003.
Points for any purchase. 10% off but not on gift certs.

I just purchased a $1.00 e-gift certificate for myself, and then clicked at the end and received the "I earned 800 points" pop-up.

So for $1.00 I earned 800 in points which is worth $5.00 of food at Burger King. I'll be eating meat tonight!
