This does not involve FF miles, but it seems to be a sweet deal. Buy specific "rebate" items at Walgreens. Rather than receiving a check for your rebate, opt for the gift card. The cool part is that they will add an additional 10% to your gift card value! I just bought twelve dollars ($12.00) worth
of rebateable items which added an additional $1.20 to the purchasing power of my gift card.

The Walgreen's rebates are really good deals. I usually buy one of everything, and donate anything I don't want to a community charity.

Also be sure and watch the weekly ads, because this month they added some additional "free with rebate" items mid-month (in other words, the mid-month sale price equaled the rebate).

A good way to find "free after rebate" items is http://www.SalesCircular.com

It's a great site that summarizes the prices in the "sales circulars" (e.g., Sunday newspaper inserts) of many major chains (including Walgreens, at least in Texas).

Along with the list of free items, you can also see the sales prices of different dealers. I do not understand SalesCircular's business model (how do they make money?), but I certainly like the site.
